Interface gasket for building envelope

A gasket assembly for attaching a window to a panel opening includes an inner frame, an outer frame, and an elastic material connecting the inner frame to the outer frame. The elastic material extends contiguously and circumferentially to couple the outer frame to the inner frame. The outer frame and inner frame can include gap flanges and the elastic material can include opposing lateral side portions. The gap flanges are embedded in the lateral side portions of the elastic material. The outer frame includes connecting structure for coupling of the outer frame to the panel opening. The inner frame includes a connecting structure for coupling of the gasket assembly to the window. The gasket assembly is configured to support the window in the panel opening and form a seal between the panel opening and the window. A method of making a gasket assembly is also disclosed.

Connection member for construction materials, connecting fitting therefor, connecting structure therefor, and connecting method therefor

A first end portion of a connecting part of a connecting member reaches a locked member arranged such that the thickness direction of one of two construction materials is an axial direction N, and a second end portion of the connecting part reaches the other one of the two construction materials. The second end portion is formed to have a torsion angle α as an inclination angle to the axial direction N. When the second end portion is coupled with the other construction material by a coupling fitting, the torsion angle α reduces or disappears, a torsion angle to the axial direction N is generated in the first end portion, the first end portion locks on the locked member, and the connecting member connects the two construction materials.

Connecting device for construction materials, connecting structure therefor, and connecting method therefor

A connecting device configured to connect two construction materials arranged at a distance therebetween, that is, a door frame, a base member, and a reinforcing member of a wall includes a connecting member including a locking portion capable of being locked with a locking target member arranged at one construction material along a thickness direction perpendicular to a direction of the distance and a coupling portion configured to be moved in the thickness direction and coupled to the other construction material by a drill screw as a coupling fitting are arranged at an end on a side of the one construction material and an end on a side of the other construction material. When the coupling portion is not coupled to the other construction material, the locking portion is movable in the thickness direction with respect to the locking target member.

A system, device and method of framing an opening, such as a window, in a clad façade 12 structure to align the window units 22 to be positioned adjustably so that the exterior sight lines align the windows without custom fabrication of the clad façade. This allows irregular variations in the original building structure to be eliminated by a perfectly aligned façade. A frame 20 has wide flanges 40 to allow the defined inner box frame area 34 to be positioned and then the frame can be shimmed to that position. Sections of frame 20 are joined by an angled member 54 with flat portion which are received in slots 56 in frame sections at their edges.

CONNECTING FITTING CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS AND CONNECTING METHOD THEREFOR

A connecting fitting (20A) for connecting two construction materials includes a first connecting member (21) and a second connecting member (22) for connecting the construction materials, and a parallelizing means (45) having a parallelizing function of aligning the connecting members (21, 22) in a first direction and making them parallel or almost parallel to each other. The first direction is a direction perpendicular to both the direction (M) of an interval between the two construction materials and the thickness direction of one construction material. The parallelizing function of the parallelizing means (45) disappears due to a load caused to act on at least one of the connecting members (21, 22). The inclination angles of the connecting members (21, 22) with respect to the direction (M) of the interval become inclination angles (θ1, θ2) opposite to each other due to the disappearance of the parallelizing function. This makes it possible to effectively perform the work for connecting two construction materials arranged with an interval therebetween even when this interval is small, and render one construction material immobile with respect to the other construction material after the connecting work.

Gate assembly

A gate assembly is formed from a gate attached by hinges to a jamb. A pair of L-shaped brackets are attached to the outer sides of the jamb. The brackets are in turn attached to a pair of gate posts in a barrier. Bolt holes formed in the header section of the jamb receive removable eye bolts that may be used as hoisting points as the jamb is being positioned within a barrier. To maintain the shape of the jamb during such positioning, a removable sill section is included in the base of the jamb. The first upright section of the jamb defines an unobstructed internal channel bounded by input and output portals. A cable may pass though the channel and into the gate by way of the output portal. Window openings in the gate may be fitted with removable window panels containing pickets and infill material. Dual gates may be positioned within an enlarged jamb, and a removable mullion post positioned between the gates and supported by the jamb.

A shimming device for attaching a substrate to a stud wall includes a plate, which has a first edge that is linear. The plate can be mounted to a respective opposed side of one of a plurality of studs to which the substrate is to be mounted. The plate is one of a plurality of plates that can be positioned on and mounted to the plurality of studs so that each plate is positioned at a respective support point for the substrate. Each plate is positioned with the first edge of the plate proud of an edge face of the stud and so that the first edges of the plurality of plates define a plane. The substrate, upon mounting to the plurality of studs, is parallel to the plane.
