Removable Door or Window Frame Assembly
A frame assembly for installation into a door or window casing is provided. The casing has a top and two side studs. The assembly includes a head jamb, a pair of side jambs, and a pair of connecting mechanism. The head jamb is removably securable to the top stud. Each side jamb is removably securable to a respective one of the two side studs. Each connecting mechanism for connecting a respective one of the side jambs with a corresponding end of the head jamb includes a first component and a second component. The first component is provided on the head jamb, and the second component is provided on the side jambs. The first and second components are removably engageable, and allow the frame assembly to be installed and uninstalled from the door or window casing. A method for removably installing the frame assembly is also provided.
WINDOW ASSEMBLY HAVING FRAMELESS APPEARANCE AND REMOVABLE GLASS PANEL
A window assembly for installing in a window framing (also referred to as a “window casing”) of a wall of a building. The window assembly is configured to have a frameless appearance when installed with the finish surround installed around the interior and/or exterior of the window. The window assembly also allows the glass panel to be removed with a minimum of removal of the finish surround, such as without removing any of the finish surround, or only removing the finish surround around several sides of the only one of the interior or exterior of the window. For example, in most cases, only the interior finish surround around the right side and left side of the installed window frame needs to be removed to remove and replace the glass panel. Furthermore, the window assembly includes an integrated drain for draining moisture which leaks into the window assembly.
PACKING ELEMENT FOR A PANEL
A packing element (20) for a panel. The packing element (20) is adapted to be mounted on at least one edge of the panel (102) and arranged to support the panel (102) within a frame (104). The packing element comprises: a base (25); a plurality of engagement members (2) which project from the base (25) to support the panel in the frame (104), wherein the base (25) has a first side that faces outwards from the panel (102) and a second side that faces towards the panel (102); at least some of the engagement members (2) comprise deformable fingers (2), each of said fingers (2) having a proximal end that is fixed to the first side of the base and a free distal end, wherein the fingers (2) are adapted to bend when the panel (102) is inserted into the frame (104).
UNITIZED CURTAIN WALL SYSTEM FOR PASSIVE HOUSE STANDARD
A unitized curtain wall system includes pre-assembled, pre-glazed aluminum framed curtain wall units. Vertical mullion components and top and bottom horizontal rail components interconnect adjacent curtain wall panels. The curtain wall units are suspended from one or more upper anchors installed on an upper floor slab. The bottom horizontal rail components are engaged with top horizontal rail components of adjacent, lower curtain wall units forming a continuous beam scheme for vertical mullion components and configured to accept lateral loads. The gravity loads of curtain wall units are supported by one or more floor anchors. Organic shaped insulating forms are disposed laterally between top and bottom horizontal rail components of adjacent curtain wall panels. The forms are compressible to permit flexing vertical movement of the curtain wall units while reducing air movement in a horizontal cavity formed between the top and bottom horizontal rail components forming a stack joint.
Bead for a frame member
A bead for releasably securing a glazing unit to a frame member, comprising a body having a first end and a second end, and a resiliently deformable member secured to the body and having a first finger extending from the body to a first end, and a second finger extending from the first finger to a second end. The first end of the body and the first end of the first finger are configured to engage with respective first and second ends of a frame member so as to secure the bead to the frame member. The second end of the body is configured to releasably secure a gasket in a first position so as to secure a glazing unit against an opposed end of the frame member. In use, application of an external force to the gasket moves the gasket to a second position and deflects the second finger from a first position to a second position, and the first finger is configured to separate from the second end of the frame member upon deflection of the second finger to the second position, so as to release the bead from the frame member.
Extruded Frame System for Glazing
A frame system for securing a glazing unit to a window portal includes an elongated primary mount extrusion, an elongated mount stop extrusion, an elongated first gasket, an elongated second gasket and a structural sealant. The primary mount extrusion is secured to the window portal. A mount stop extrusion engages the primary mount extrusion with a pair of ratcheting members. The first gasket and the second gasket define a passage therebetween and the passage has a width so that the glazing unit fits therein. A structural sealant is disposed so as to affix the glazing unit to an inner upper surface of the primary mount extrusion.
Window assembly
A polymer window assembly includes a polymer window frame with a pair of jambs and a sill, and a glass unit carried by the window frame. A pair of brackets are attached to the jambs proximate corners between the jambs and the sill. Each bracket has an upright member, a horizontal member orthogonal to the upright member and a hook attached to a rear surface of the upright member. The brackets attach to the jambs so that the hook extends through a hole in the jamb, the upright member is adjacent a surface of the jamb and the horizontal member is disposed above (e.g., spaced above) the sill. The brackets support and transfer the weight of the glass unit to the jambs to inhibit (e.g., prevent) the sill from bearing the load of the glass unit, thereby inhibiting (e.g., preventing) the crushing or bowing of the sill by the glass unit and thereby inhibiting (e.g., preventing) the formation of gaps in the window assembly that allow for air and/or water infiltration through the window assembly.
FAÇADE GLAZING AND INSULATING GLAZING UNIT
A façade glazing with a metal frame and an insulating glazing unit inserted into the frame, which unit has at least two glass panes and a spacer and sealing profile extending circumferentially therebetween close to their edges, wherein at least one RFID transponder is attached to the insulating glazing unit as an identification element and wherein the frame engages around the edges of the insulating glazing unit and, at the same time, covers the at least one RFID transponder in the through-vision direction (arrow A) through the glass panes, wherein at least one separate metal coupling element is inserted into the frame adjacent the transponder for coupling out and coupling in HF radiation transmitted via the transponder to the outside of the façade glazing and received from the outside.
Unitizing gasket and methods of use
A gasket for use in holding side members in proper position during assembly and use is provided. The gasket may be used with frameless door rail systems such as those used to secure heavy glass doors in residential and commercial buildings. The gasket holds the door rail clamping members in proper position during insertion into the door rail system, and in proper position during the insertion of the door or panel to be held therebetween. The gasket also provides a cushioned interface and a weather seal between the clamping members and the associated door or panel and eliminates the need for bonding of the gasket to the clamping mechanism(s).
