A FLUID DIVERTER TOOL, SYSTEM AND METHOD OF DIVERTING A FLUID FLOW IN A WELL
A fluid diverter tool, system and method of diverting a fluid flow in a in a well, having: a tubular mandrel and a packer element affixed onto an exterior thereof and operable to sealingly engage an inside of a pipe body to divert a flow of a treatment fluid outwards through holes formed in the pipe bod; and a pressure relief device operable to open and relieve pressure from one side to another side of the packer element when exposed to a given pressure differential acting across the pressure relief device from said one side of the packer element, the pressure relief device also adapted to close when exposed to a lower than said given pressure differential acting thereacross from said one side of the packer element.
Method and apparatus for fluid-activated shifting tool to actuate a plug assembly
A fluid-activated shifting tool includes a fluid entry valve, a piston, a fluid pressure chamber and a relief pressure chamber. The piston can shift and provide a force relative to the toolstring using the pressure differential created between the pressure within the fluid pressure chamber compared to the pressure within the relief pressure chamber. The fluid entry valve provides a temporary fluid entry barrier between the well fluid and the fluid pressure chamber. At a selected depth within the wellbore, the fluid entry valve can be actuated, providing well fluid hydrostatic pressure inside the fluid pressure chamber. The shifting force of the piston can be used to acuate or set a plug within a tubing string of the wellbore.
Downhole tool with bottom composite slip
A downhole tool having a mandrel, and a bottom slip disposed around the mandrel. The bottom slip includes a circular body having a one-piece configuration characterized by a plurality of slip segments by at least partial material connectivity therearound. The bottom slip is made of a filament wound composite material, which means the bottom slip has a plurality of layers joined by respective interface layers. An outer slip surface of at least one of the plurality of slip segments is defined in cross-section by a plane P that intersects a longitudinal axis of the downhole tool at an angle a1 when the bottom slip is in an unset position.
Pipe coupling devices for oil and gas applications
A pipe coupling device includes a body configured to connect a first pipe segment to a second pipe segment, a sealing device carried by the body, and an activation unit. The sealing device includes a circumferential element including a first material and a peripheral element connected to an edge of the circumferential element and including a second material that is different from the first material. The activation unit is configured to adjust the sealing device to an activated state in which the sealing device extends radially from the body to form at least a portion of a seal with a pipe that surrounds the body, such that the seal fluidically isolates a first annular region between the first pipe segment and the pipe along a first side of the seal from a second annular region between the second pipe segment and the pipe along a second side of the seal.
Well Sealing Tool with Isolatable Setting Chamber
A well sealing tool may include a hydraulic setting mechanism wherein a setting chamber is isolated after setting a sealing element in engagement with a wellbore. In one example, a setting mechanism includes a setting chamber housing positionable about a mandrel to define at least a portion of a setting chamber between the mandrel and the setting chamber housing. A setting port fluidically couples a through bore of the mandrel with the setting chamber. A valve element is biased toward a closed position within the setting port. A guide sleeve is disposed about the mandrel in a first position that props the valve element to an open position. The guide sleeve is moveable to a second position in response to a threshold pressure applied to the setting chamber to release the valve element to the closed position.
Methods and systems for mapping a wellbore for refracturing
Examples of the present disclosure relate to systems and methods for mapping a wellbore for refracturing. More specifically, embodiments are directed towards utilizing downhole pressure data to identify previously untreated clusters, clusters with cross contamination, and clusters with proper zonal isolation with full pressure integrity.
HIGH-INTEGRITY PRESSURE PROTECTION SYSTEM CHRISTMAS TREE
A high-integrity pressure protection system Christmas tree is provided. In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a Christmas tree, a choke coupled to receive fluid from the Christmas tree, and a high-integrity pressure protection system. The high-integrity pressure protection system includes pressure sensors downstream of the choke, valves upstream of the choke, and a logic solver connected to control operation of the valves of the high-integrity pressure protection system that are upstream of the choke. Further, the valves of the high-integrity pressure protection system that are upstream of the choke include at least two valves of the Christmas tree. Additional systems, devices, and methods are also disclosed.
Method and Apparatus for a plug including a radial and collapsible gap within the continuous expandable sealing ring.
A plug assembly includes a continuous expandable sealing ring having an embedded radial gap feature. The continuous expandable sealing ring includes a first section with a prominent external surface, whereby the first section with a prominent external surface includes a radial gap underneath, and a second section with a second external surface. During the setting of the plug, the first prominent external surface comes in contact with the internal surface of the tubing string, while the radial gap underneath allows avoiding transmitting radial forces from the continuous sealing ring towards the tubing string, therefore keeping the majority of the force transmission from the expandable gripping ring towards the tubing string.
IMPROVED PRESSURE CONTROL DEVICE
A pressure control device for sealing a conduit is described. The pressure control device comprises a seal element comprising an elastomer, the seal element defining a seal element external surface portion, the seal element external surface portion defining an external perimeter. The external perimeter is adapted to increase as an environmental temperature increases, such that, in use, an increase in the environmental temperature can move the seal element external surface portion into engagement with the conduit or, once engaged with the conduit or if already engaged with the conduit, can create an improved seal with the conduit.
DOWNHOLE COMPLETION DEVICE WITH LIQUID
The present invention relates to a downhole completion device configured to be mounted as part of a well tubular metal structure. The downhole completion device comprises a housing enclosing a closed space, an electrical component arranged in the space inside the housing, the housing being filled with a liquid having a first volume of 1 bar at 20° C., wherein the housing has a first housing section and a second housing section, the first housing section having a first thickness and the second housing section having a second thickness, and the second thickness being smaller than the first thickness so that the second housing section is more flexible than the first housing section. Furthermore, the invention relates to a downhole completion system.
