Radio frequency waveguide system for mixed temperature environments
A system of a machine includes a network of a plurality of nodes distributed throughout the machine. Each of the nodes is operable to communicate through one or more radio frequencies, where the machine includes a cooler portion and a hotter portion. The system includes a means for communicating with the network of nodes using a higher frequency to communicate with one or more of the nodes in the cooler portion of the machine and a lower frequency to communicate with one or more of the nodes in the hotter portion of the machine.
Radio frequency waveguide system including control remote node thermal cooling
A radio frequency waveguide communication system includes a guided electromagnetic transmission network, and a cooling air source. The guided electromagnetic transmission network includes one or more remote node in fluid communication with one or more waveguides. The cooling air source is in fluid communication with the guided electromagnetic transmission network and is configured to provide pressurized cooling air to the waveguide. The waveguides direct the pressurized cooling air to the remote node.
Repair tool for turbomachinery and related method
A guide system for repairing turbomachinery includes a housing; a guide tube have a hollow interior for accepting a working tool module; an axial motor for moving the guide tube axially with respect to the housing; a rotational motor for rotating the guide tube with respect to the housing; and an attachment for securing the housing with respect to a turbomachinery casing. A repair kit and method are also provided.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING DUAL STARTER AIR VALVE
A system may comprise a sensor configured to measure a characteristic of an engine component. A valve assembly may have an airflow outlet in fluid communication with the engine component. The valve assembly may include a first valve. A first valve control device may be coupled to the first valve and configured to control the first valve based on a measurement by the sensor. A second valve may be in fluidic series with the first valve. A second valve control device may be coupled to the second valve and configured to control the second valve based on the measurement by the sensor.
Radio frequency waveguide system for mixed temperature environments
A system of a machine includes a network of a plurality of nodes distributed throughout the machine, a controller, and a plurality of waveguides. Each of the nodes is operable to communicate through one or more radio frequencies, where the machine includes a cooler portion and a hotter portion. The controller is operable to communicate with the network of nodes using a higher frequency to communicate with one or more of the nodes in the cooler portion of the machine and a lower frequency to communicate with one or more of the nodes in the hotter portion of the machine. The waveguides are configured to guide transmission of the one or more radio frequencies between the controller and one or more of the nodes.
Feedback device with variable magnetic permeability
A system and method for providing feedback for an aircraft-bladed rotor about a longitudinal axis and having an adjustable blade pitch angle. At least one position marker is provided at the rotor, extends along an axial direction, from a first end to a second end, and has varying magnetic permeability from the first end to the second end. At least one sensor is coupled to the rotor and configured for producing, as the rotor rotates about the longitudinal axis, at least one sensor signal in response to detecting passage of the at least one position marker. A control unit is communicatively coupled to the at least one sensor and configured to generate a feedback signal indicative of the blade pitch angle in response to the at least one sensor signal received from the at least one sensor.

Two tier lubrication system
A two-tier lubrication system may comprise an oil nozzle located in a bearing compartment. A main oil system may be configured to provide oil to the oil nozzle. A scavenge system may be configured to collect oil from the bearing compartment. A valve may be fluidly coupled between the main oil system and the scavenge system. The valve may be configured to actuate between a main flow position and a scavenge flow position.
Charging device and associated operating method
A charging device for an exhaust gas turbocharger of an internal combustion engine may include at least one variable turbine and compressor geometry and an adjusting device for adjusting the at least one variable turbine and compressor geometry. The adjusting device may include a minimum set limit, which defines a minimum set flow of the at least one variable turbine and compressor geometry for an exhaust gas driving the charging device, and a maximum set limit, which defines a maximum set flow of the at least one variable turbine and compressor geometry for the exhaust gas driving the charging device. The adjusting device may be designed such that at least one minimum set limit of the adjusting device and the maximum set limit of the adjusting dive are variably adjustable and readjustable.
