A rotor assembly is provided for a gas turbine engine. This rotor assembly includes a first rotor disk, a second rotor disk and a plurality of rotor blades. The first rotor disk is configured to rotate about a rotational axis. The second rotor disk is configured to rotate about the rotational axis. The rotor blades are arranged circumferentially around the rotational axis. Each of the rotor blades is mounted to the first rotor disk and to the second rotor disk. The rotor blades include a first rotor blade. The first rotor blade includes an attachment projecting axially along the rotational axis into a first pocket in the first rotor disk and a second pocket in the second rotor disk. The attachment has a dovetail cross-sectional geometry when viewed in a plane perpendicular to the rotational axis. A portion of the first rotor disk extends circumferentially across and covers the attachment.

Composite reinforced rotor

A component of a rotor system is provided and includes a disk and a reinforcing ring. The disk includes an airfoil element, a web extending radially inwardly from the airfoil element and an arm element extending axially from the web. The reinforcing ring is formed of fiber reinforced materials and is disposed to fit about the arm element.

A fan section for a gas turbine engine is disclosed herein. The fan may include a rotor disk and a plurality of airfoils fixedly attached to and supported by the rotor disk as a single unitary piece. The airfoils may extend radially outward from the rotor disk with respect to an engine axis. The rotor disk may be made of metal and the airfoils may each be made at least partially of an organic matrix composite.

Pinned platform for blade with circumferential attachment

A wheel assembly for a gas turbine engine includes a disk, a plurality of blades, and a platform system that includes a plurality of platforms and pins. The disk is configured to rotate about an axis during operation of the gas turbine engine. The blades each include a circumferentially extending root received in the disk and an airfoil that extends radially away from the root. The platforms are arranged around the wheel to define a flow path of the gas turbine engine and the pins extend into the platforms and the disk to couple the platforms with the disk.

TRUNNION RETENTION FOR A TURBINE ENGINE

A fan for a gas turbine engine is provided. The fan includes a plurality of fan blades, a disk, and a trunnion mechanism for attaching the fan blades to the disk. The disk can be formed of a plurality of individual disk segments, with the trunnion mechanism attaching one of the plurality of fan blades to a respective disk segment.
