A front fender is provided in front of an air-cooled engine which is a drive source of a motorcycle. An air introduction hole which opens frontward is formed at a front part of a cylinder head of the air-cooled engine. A space around a plug attachment portion for a spark plug and a space in front of the cylinder head communicate with each other through the air introduction hole. A guide portion for guiding incoming wind toward the air introduction hole is formed at a rear part of the front fender.

In the vehicle structure for mounting an air-cooled internal combustion engine, a crankcase is supported by a body frame in such a manner that crankcase hanger bosses on the crankcase are joined to the body frame via crankcase hanger plates. A cylinder head has left and right cylinder head hanger seating surfaces formed perpendicular to a left-right horizontal direction by cutting out right and left symmetric areas close to side edges of left and right side faces of the cylinder head along with parts of cooling fins. One ends of left and right cylinder head hanger members are fastened respectively to cylinder head hanger attaching seats on which the left and right cylinder head hanger seating surfaces of the cylinder head are formed. The other ends of the left and right cylinder head hanger members are fastened individually to the body frame. The structure is capable of using an engine body itself to improve stiffness of a body frame without use of any particular reinforcing members.

Dual flap active inlet cooling shroud

A cooling shroud assembly for an engine is disclosed. This cooling shroud assembly includes a shroud body. There is an inlet door or flap to an interior of this shroud body, along with an outlet door or flap from this shroud body. When installed on an engine that is incorporated by a moving vehicle (e.g., aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicle, radio-controlled aircraft, watercraft), airflow through the shroud body from an inlet to an outlet. The position of the inlet and outlet doors may be adjusted (e.g., simultaneously) to change the airflow through the shroud body, and to thereby change the dissipation of heat from the operating engine via this airflow.

AIR-COOLED ENGINE GENERATOR

An air-cooled engine generator usable in an enclosed and relatively small indoor space includes an engine including a crank shaft on which a generator and a fan are provided. An outside cover includes a discharge aperture which discharges cooling air generated by the fan, and covers the engine, the generator, the fan, and a cooling section. The cooling section includes a mixing chamber where a coolant introduced from the outside and exhaust gas discharged from an exhaust pipe of the engine mix with each other, and an outer circumferential surface which is cooled by the coolant that is introduced into the mixing chamber. The exhaust gas is mixed with and cooled by the coolant in the mixing chamber while the cooling air which is supposed to be discharged out of the air-cooled engine generator is cooled by the outer circumferential surface of the cooling section.

Engine

An engine includes a crankcase with cylinders and fins on outer circumferences of the cylinders. A crank shaft penetrates the crankcase. A cooling fan is provided on an outer side of the crankcase and arranged coaxially with the crank shaft. A first cover covers an outer side of the cylinders and the crankcase, and the cooling fan. A second cover capable of being detached from/attached to the first cover. The first cover includes a first opening facing the cooling fan, and second openings facing the fins. The second cover includes an air inlet facing the first opening, and attached to the first cover to cover the first opening and the second openings.
