Continuously variable transmission (CVT) driven supercharger through transmission output
A vehicle intake supercharger is described herein. The supercharger is driven by a continuously variable transmission (CVT), which is driven by a main car transmission through a transmission output shaft. The present invention significantly improves boost by the supercharger at mid and high-end revolutions per minute (RPMs) and reduces boost lag at low-end RPMs with lower power withdrawn from the engine at higher gears. As the transmission output gets faster, lower engine power is required to spin the supercharger, where boost is optimized by the CVT depending on many factors, such as driving conditions, driver input, engine RPM and max engine intake pressure.

GEAR SYSTEMS WITH VARIABLE SPEED DRIVE
An epicyclic gear system includes an input sun gear configured to receive rotational input from a turbine of a turbo charger. A first set of planet gears is distributed around and meshes with the input sun gear. A carrier holds the first set of planet gears and defines a rotational axis about which the carrier rotates. A second set of planet gears is mounted to the carrier. An output sun gear is included, wherein the second set of planet gears are distributed around and mesh with the output sun. The output sun gear is configured to deliver rotational power to an internal combustion engine. The carrier is configured to selectively be driven by a variable speed drive to regulate output to the output sun over a range of input rotational speeds of the input sun gear.
UTILITY VEHICLE
Provided is a utility vehicle including a seat, an engine disposed rearward of the seat, and a supercharger disposed between the seat and the engine.

GEAR TRAIN JOINT
A bearing support for a turbocharger, the bearing support including a body, a bore extending axially through the body and dimensioned to receive a bearing and a portion of a planet carrier, and a plurality of pilots. Each pilot may be formed on an external surface of the body, and each pilot may be machined for an interference fit with a different component of the turbocharger.

Fluid pumping system
Fluid pumping system for a vehicle with an internal combustion engine, the fluid pumping system comprising: a housing; an electric motor; a planetary gear with a first member that can be driven by the internal combustion engine, a second member driven by the electric motor, and a third member; and a pump driven by the third element of the planetary gear set, the housing being closed by a pump flange and a pulley with pulley cover, wherein at least the pulley and/or a ring gear disposed in the pulley is made of plastic.

SUPERCHARGED ENGINE
A supercharged engine is provided, which includes an engine body having cylinders, an intake passage disposed outside the engine body and connected to the cylinders via intake ports, a supercharger provided in the intake passage and spaced apart from an intake-side side surface of the engine body, the intake-side side surface being connected to the intake passage, and a fuel pump disposed on the intake-side side surface. A portion of the intake passage constitutes an intervening part located between the supercharger and the engine body. The intervening part overlaps with the fuel pump in one of vertical and lateral directions of the engine body.
