Clutched vacuum pump system

A system is provided for generating vacuum in a vehicle. The system includes a vacuum pump, an engagement clutch, an actuator, and a torque limiting clutch. The engagement clutch operatively connects a camshaft to the rotor. The actuator controls the clutch. The actuator is movable, based on air pressure in a vacuum conduit, between a low-pressure position in which the actuator causes the clutch to operatively disconnect the camshaft from the rotor, and a high-pressure position in which the actuator causes the clutch to operatively connect the camshaft to the rotor. The torque limiting clutch limits torque transfer to the rotor when the engagement clutch operatively connects the camshaft to the rotor. The system also provides control for hysteresis.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR POWER TAKE OFF DEVICE TORQUE DELIVERY

Methods and systems are provided for controlling a vehicle engine to deliver desired torque to a power take off device coupled to the engine. In one example, the method may include, learning a filtered PTO torque demand during vehicle acceleration, and steady state operation, and during transition in engine states using the learned PTO torque demand to adjust engine speed in order to deliver a desired engine torque output for optimal operation of the PTO device.

An endless band drive system having a variable center distance between the drive pulley and the driven pulley also has a rotatable control shaft and an endless band guide, where the guide is positioned by the rotatable control shaft for maintaining a slackless endless band with change of pulley center distance. Rotation of the control shaft pivots the endless band guide thereby maintaining a slackless endless band with change of the pulley center distance. Preferably, the rotatable control shaft also provides means for adjusting the center distance between the drive pulley and the driven pulley. The present invention provides a slackless endless band system for a variable compression ratio engine having a variable center distance between the drive pulley mounted on the crankshaft and the driven pulley mounted on the camshaft. The system provides slackless operation of the endless band at two or more compression ratio values.

Internal Combustion Engine for a Motor Vehicle, in Particular for a Car
20230167795 · 2023-06-01 ·

An internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle includes an output shaft and a spring element which can rotate with the output shaft which is to be tensioned as a result of a deactivation of the internal combustion engine by a rotation of the output shaft, where a spring force can be provided by the spring element and where by the spring force the output shaft can be set into rotation in the event of a start following the deactivation. Via a locking device the output shaft is to be secured against a rotation after tensioning the spring element and while the spring element is tensioned. A blocking device can be shifted between a blocking state securing a first part of the spring element, which has a second part non-rotationally connected to the output shaft, against a rotation and a release state releasing the first part for a rotation.

POWER TRANSMISSION ROLLER ASSEMBLY

A power transmission roller assembly includes a power transmission roller configured to be brought into contact with the driving roller and the driven roller, a pivot shaft fixed to a vehicle body, a pivot arm arranged radially inside of the power transmission roller and pivotally mounted on the pivot shaft, and a roller support bearing rotatably supporting the power transmission roller. A pair of biasing members are mounted to the pivot arm and bias the roller support bearing to a predetermined position between the driving roller and the driven roller such that the abutment force between the driving roller and the power transmission roller is balanced with the abutment force between the driven roller and the power transmission roller. Sliding members are mounted on respective shafts of the biasing members to extend through the sliding members, and frictional forces are generated between the sliding members and the respective shafts.
