THROTTLE CONTROL METHOD, THROTTLE CONTROL DEVICE, AND THROTTLE CONTROL SYSTEM
A throttle control method of controlling an opening degree of a throttle valve in a multi-cylinder engine that includes throttle valves in intake passages provided for each cylinder. It is possible to independently control the opening degree for each of the throttle valves. The throttle control method includes controlling the opening degree of the throttle valve is based on differences among intake air amounts in the respective intake passages.
METHOD OF OPERATING AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Methods and systems are provided for an engine. In one example, a method comprises stopping an engine via a soft-stop method in response to a likelihood of condensate forming being less than or equal to a threshold likelihood. The method further comprises stopping the engine via an exhaust gas evacuation method in response to the likelihood of condensate forming being greater than the threshold likelihood.
Regeneration method for exhaust-gas aftertreatment device in engine-driven compressor, and engine-driven compressor provided with said aftertreatment device
Provided is a forced-regeneration treatment method for an exhaust-gas aftertreatment device (DPF) and an associated engine-driven compressor. When the amount of particulate matter (PM) deposited in a filter element of a DPF reaches a predetermined amount and a forced-regeneration start command is input, a capacity controlling means of the engine-driven compressor is disabled to close an intake valve and to open the discharge side of a compressor main unit to atmosphere, thereby causing the compressor main unit to achieve a low-load state. The operation mode of the engine is switched to a predetermined forced-regeneration mode to operate the engine at a predetermined speed and to increase the temperature of the gas. The temperature inside the DPF is increased to reach a temperature at which an oxidative catalyst is activated and to a temperature lower than the self-combustion temperature of the PM, thereby forcibly burning the PM.
Variable air intake apparatus reducing noise
A variable air intake apparatus in accordance with the present invention includes an valve configured to open a through hole formed at a duct body when an engine is driven at a high output to change a path of air introduced into the engine depending on an engine RPM, in which a magnet is mounted on any one of the valve and the duct body and a steel member is mounted on the other one thereof to maintain a state in which the valve closes the through hole, and a buffering member is mounted on any one of the valve and the duct body to prevent generation of hitting sound that is generated when the valve hits the duct body.
Method and controller for engine torque control in a vehicle during a default throttle condition
A method for controlling engine torque in a vehicle during a default throttle condition includes determining whether a throttle of the engine is in a default throttle condition, determining whether the engine is producing more torque than desired if the throttle of the engine is in the default throttle condition, and applying an accessory load to the engine if the engine is producing more torque than desired in the default throttle condition.
ENGINE SPEED CONTROL SYSTEM
Systems and apparatuses include an engine including a fuel tank, a carburetor including a throttle valve movable between a first throttle position and a second throttle position, a governor system configured to move the throttle valve, and a speed control system including a control lever defining a first actuation distance, and a bellcrank movable between an idle position and a high speed position and coupled to the governor system. The bellcrank defining a second actuation distance that is different than the first actuation distance.
COOPERATIVE CAM PHASER AND AIR THROTTLE CONTROL
Methods and apparatus relate to air handling for an internal combustion engine system, particularly utilizing premixed air and fuel. The engine system includes an intake air throttle (IAT) having a position set in response to the engine speed and a variable valve timing module having an intake valve timing set in response to the engine load. The variable valve timing module may be a cam phaser having a position at or between full retard and full advance positions. The engine system may operate in a transient mode or a fuel efficiency mode. The IAT position is adjusted in response to an engine speed error value or set at full throttle. The cam phaser position is adjusted in response to a pressure difference across the IAT, the engine speed, or is set to a limit position.
SPEED SENSOR PROBE LOCATION IN GAS TURBINE ENGINE
A method for a gas turbine engine includes affixing a speed sensor probe in the gas turbine engine. The sensor probe is operable to determine a rotational speed in the gas turbine engine. The gas turbine engine includes a first spool that is coupled at a first axial position to a compressor hub that is coupled to drive a first compressor. The first spool is coupled at a second, different axial position to a fan drive input shaft that is coupled to drive a fan drive gear system. The second turbine is coupled through a second spool to drive a second compressor. The speed sensor probe is affixed at a third axial position that is axially forward of the first axial position and axially aft of the second axial position.
ENGINE GOVERNOR
An electronic governor system includes a motor, a transmission coupled to the motor, a throttle plate coupled to the transmission, the throttle plate movable to multiple positions between closed and wide-open, wherein power is supplied to the motor to move the throttle pate to a desired position and wherein power is not supplied to the motor to maintain the throttle plate in the desired position.
Controller for internal combustion engine
Provided is an internal combustion engine including a sparkplug disposed in the vicinity of the center portion of an upper wall surface of a combustion chamber. Tumble flow generated during lean burn operation is controlled such that the tumble flow shape changes according to the engine rotation speed between a first tumble shape (usual tumble shape) in which the flow direction of a gas around the sparkplug at the time of ignition is direction from an intake valve side toward an exhaust valve side in a latter half of a compression stroke, and a second tumble shape ( tumble shape) in which the flow direction of the gas is reversed in the latter half of the compression stroke from the direction from the intake valve side toward the exhaust valve side to the direction from the exhaust valve side toward the intake valve side.
