METHOD FOR DIVIDING A FUEL INJECTION
A method, for a direct injection engine, for dividing a fuel injection corresponding to an engine cycle into minimum sub-injections, including: determination of a desired maximum number of sub-injections by dividing a mass of fuel to be injected during the engine cycle by a minimum injectable mass and rounding down to the nearest integer; lower bounding of the desired maximum number by an authorized maximum number of sub-injections; verification that an injection duration, for such a desired maximum number of sub-injections, is less than a duration of a possible injection window and decrementation of the desired maximum number, otherwise iteration until a positive verification.
FUEL INJECTOR CONTROL STRATEGY FOR INTAKE VACUUM BASED LOW PRESSURE FUEL SYSTEM
In at least some implementations, a method of control-ling fuel injection events, includes determining at least one engine op-erating condition, determining timing of a desired pressure in an engine intake chamber or at the outlet of a fuel injector, and initiating a fuel injection event as a function of the at least one engine operating condition and the desired pressure. The fuel injection event is initiated prior to the desired pressure occurring and wherein the fuel injection event occurs for a duration such that the fuel injection event terminates after the desired pressure occurs.
Control device of vehicle
Provided is a control device of a vehicle including an alternator that generates power using a driving force of an internal combustion engine, wherein when the alternator is cold and a request power of an accessory is equal to or greater than a predetermined value, the control device increases the number of revolutions of the internal combustion engine compared with the number of revolutions when the alternator is not cold.
Method and system for valve sticking detection, prevention, or correction
A method for cleaning an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve includes scheduling a cleaning for the EGR valve, and receiving a signal indicative of a temperature of exhaust gas produced with an internal combustion engine. The method may also include generating a command to actuate an intake throttle valve to a restrictive position to increase the temperature of the exhaust gas for cleaning the EGR valve, and generating a signal to repeatedly actuate the EGR valve.
Internal combustion engine system
An internal combustion engine system includes an internal combustion engine including a cylinder, an intake valve and an exhaust valve, a cylinder injection valve, and a variable valve drive mechanism, and a control device that controls the cylinder injection valve and the variable valve drive mechanism. The control device includes a calculation unit that calculates a first crank angle section where a temperature of the cylinder is equal to or higher than a boiling point of the fuel in a compression stroke before completion of warming-up of the internal combustion engine and a second crank angle section where the temperature of the cylinder is equal to or higher than the boiling point of the fuel in the valve closed period, and an injection controller that executes fuel injection in the first and second crank angle sections by the cylinder injection valve.
Battery temperature adjusting device for vehicle, vehicle, and method of adjusting battery temperature for vehicle
A battery temperature adjusting device for a vehicle on which a battery is mounted, the battery being a lithium ion battery disposed near a powertrain unit inside an engine bay, is provided. The device includes a first air duct provided to an intake passage configured to lead intake air to a combustion chamber of an engine, a second air duct provided to the intake passage and provided with an intake opening that opens toward a space between the powertrain unit and the battery, an intake-air-amount adjusting part, and a controller configured to acquire an ambient temperature of the powertrain unit. The controller increases a ratio of the second intake air amount relative to the sum of the first intake air amount and the second intake air amount, when the ambient temperature exceeds a first threshold temperature, compared with when the ambient temperature is below the first threshold temperature.
Engine oil state control device
An engine oil state control device for controlling a fuel mixture ratio of a fuel mixed in an engine oil of an engine on which a predetermined combustion control is performed includes comprising a fuel mixture ratio acquisition part configured to acquire the fuel mixture ratio, and an oil temperature rise control part configured to perform an oil temperature rise control for increasing an evaporation rate of the fuel mixed in the engine oil if the fuel mixture ratio is equal to or greater than a first threshold.
Method of operating an internal combustion engine
Methods and systems are provided for an engine. In one example, a method comprises stopping an engine via a soft-stop method in response to a likelihood of condensate forming being less than or equal to a threshold likelihood. The method further comprises stopping the engine via an exhaust gas evacuation method in response to the likelihood of condensate forming being greater than the threshold likelihood.
Spark ignited single cylinder engine derate for overheat
An engine includes a single cylinder, at least one sensor, a fuel injector, and a controller. The at least one sensor is configured to generate sensor data for an engine condition. The controller is configured to perform a comparison of the engine condition to a threshold and in response to the comparison, generate a first command to deactivate the fuel injector after a first predetermined time period and a second command to reactivate the fuel injector after a second predetermined time period.
