DEVICE FOR OPERATING AN INTERNAL-COMBUSTION ENGINE OF A MOTOR VEHICLE
20170363019 · 2017-12-21 ·

A device is provided for operating an internal-combustion engine of a motor vehicle having a power actuator and a control unit. The control unit is configured for adjusting the power actuator as a function of a load demand on the basis of a displacement of the driving pedal by the driver, wherein, during an efficiency mode demanded and activated by the driver, independently of the displacement of the driving pedal, a rotational-speed-dependent consumption-optimal first load demand, and as a function of the displacement of the driving pedal, a second load demand, are determined. The control unit is configured for adjusting the power actuator while taking into account the determined first and second load demands.

Fuel Reforming Device and Completion of Gas-burner vehicles (CNG)

The invented system adds some petrol fuel to the vehicle engine which runs with natural gas (CNG or LPG). It causes a simultaneous combustion of petrol and natural gas (CNG or LPG). This action decreases depreciation of engine, increases power of the engine and reduces fuel consumption in natural gas vehicles. The above-mentioned system consists of an innovative petrol holder storage, an electronically circuit, a relay, a lever micro switch and a petrol fuel injector. Whenever the accelerator pedal is pressed more than a certain amount, the system will be activated and command to inject petrol collected in the storage into the air manifold.

Control system and method

A system and method control a powered system having an engine configured to operate using a plurality of fuel types. A first set of control signals including a first set of valve signals are communicated to each fuel tank based at least in part on a first stored engine operating profile to control amounts of fuel provided from each fuel tank to the engine. A different, second set of control signals including a second set of valve signals are communicated to the fuel tanks based at least in part on a second stored engine operating profile to control or change the amounts of fuel from each fuel tank to the engine. The system and method can switch between operating conditions associated with different external domains to alter the engine operating profile used to control the fuel or fuels supplied to the engine.

Shovel

A shovel enabled to set an engine revolution speed to revolution speeds including a revolution speed for a running operation and a revolution speed for an idling running operation that is lower than the revolution speed for the running operation includes an engine provided as a driving source of the shovel, an operating part configured to be driven by a driving force of the engine, an operation component configured to operate the operating part, a detecting device configured to detect a position of a movable portion of an operator and a position of the operation component, an operation determining part configured to determine a positional relationship between the movable portion and the operation component, and a control part configured to set the engine revolution speed of the engine based on the positional relationship between the movable portion and the operation component that is determined by the operation determining part.

SURGICAL STAPLING INSTRUMENT HAVING A RELEASABLE BUTTRESS MATERIAL

A surgical stapler including an anvil, a staple cartridge, and a buttress material removably retained to the anvil and/or staple cartridge. In various embodiments, the staple cartridge can include at least one staple removably stored therein which can, when deployed, or fired, therefrom, contact the buttress material and remove the buttress material from the anvil and/or staple cartridge. In at least one embodiment, the anvil can include at least one lip and/or groove configured to removably retain the buttress material to the anvil until deformable members extending from the surgical staple are bent by the anvil and are directed toward and contact the buttress material.

METHOD OF OFFERING FINELY CALIBRATED ENGINE SPEED CONTROL TO A LARGE NUMBER OF DIVERSE POWER TAKE-OFF (PTO) APPLICATIONS

Systems and methods are provided for controlling a power plant during use of a power take-off (PTO) device, wherein the responsiveness and stability of the controller are adjustable by an operator in the field. The use of setting maps allows fine tuning of controller responsiveness while also ensuring that expected performance would be achieved at any setting within the setting map. In some embodiments, a proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller is used to control engine speed, and gains for the proportional, integral, and derivative terms are obtained from setting maps based on a responsiveness setting chosen by a vehicle operator.

Handheld work apparatus

A handheld work apparatus has a combustion engine (4) for driving a tool. The combustion engine (4) has an ignition device, a device for metering fuel and a control device (31). The control device (31) engages when an engagement speed (n.sub.E1, n.sub.E2) is reached, in order to limit the speed (n) of the combustion engine (4). In order to allow the speed (n) to be set in an easy manner at full throttle, the work apparatus has a device for setting the engagement speed (n.sub.E2) by the user.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ENHANCED OPERATOR CONTROL OF FUEL SAVING MODES

The present disclosure generally relates to a system and method for providing enhanced operator-controlled fuel saving modes for a vehicle to optimize fuel economy of a vehicle. In one embodiment, the fuel saving optimization system and method enables the operator to create fuel saving configurations which include operator input as to how to operate one or more devices while the vehicle is within a specific locale and under a specific conditions or in response to specific event occurring. The fuel saving optimization system stores each created fuel saving configuration for a future use, and executes each fuel saving configuration when the vehicle is under the specified conditions. In certain embodiments, the input is provided by the operator in real time or can be retrieved via past travel history data on a particular route which is stored in a database.

A driving mode setting part sets a driving mode when a vehicle travels by automatic driving. An item setting part sets a prioritized diagnosis. A storage part stores plural diagnosis conditions provided in correspondence to each diagnosis item. A target setting part sets a control target value. A motive power source part controls a motive power source based on the control target value. Each diagnosis item is assigned to the driving mode, for which the diagnosis condition is most easily satisfied. The item setting part sets, as a prioritized item, the diagnosis item assigned to the set driving mode. When the prioritized item is set, the target setting part sets the control target value so that the motive power source attains a state, which is close to the diagnosis condition of the prioritized item.

Method of varying vehicle engine braking torque using full authority active fuel management
09777656 · 2017-10-03 · ·

A method for intelligent active engine braking using full authority active fuel management based on vehicle speed and brake pedal position. The method includes determining if the tow mode of the vehicle has been selected and enables all engine cylinders to ensure maximum engine braking capacity is available. When vehicle tow mode is not selected then the method varies engine braking capacity by disabling one or more cylinders based on the vehicle speed and brake pedal position.
