The control system includes a controller configured to receive a signal corresponding to a fill state of the DPF being at or above a first threshold. The controller is configured to selectively induce a parasitic load on the diesel engine to increase an operating temperature of the engine in response to receiving the signal.
Method and system for vehicle stop/start control
Methods and systems are presented for improving performance of a vehicle operating in a cruise control mode where a controller adjusts torque output from a vehicle to maintain vehicle speed within a desired range. The methods and systems include adapting a vehicle dynamics model and a vehicle fuel consumption map that provide input to nonlinear model predictive controller.
SUPPLEMENTAL FUEL SYSTEM FOR COMPRESSION-IGNITION ENGINE
A supplemental fuel system includes a fuel mixer. The fuel mixer includes a nozzle and a stem. The nozzle is configured to be positioned within a conduit of an air supply system for a compression-ignition engine. The nozzle has a body defining a first inlet positioned at a first nozzle end thereof, an outlet positioned at a second nozzle end thereof, a second inlet positioned between the first nozzle end and the second nozzle end, and a nozzle passage extending from the first nozzle end to the second nozzle end that is configured to receive air flowing through the conduit. The stem has a first stem end interfacing with the second inlet. The stem is configured to extend through a wall of the conduit such that a second stem end is positioned outside of the conduit.
CONTROL METHOD AND CONTROL DEVICE FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE FOR VEHICLE
A control method is provided for controlling an internal combustion engine for a vehicle configured to engage a lockup clutch during a fuel cut, and to decrease a lockup hydraulic pressure at a fuel cut recovery to bring the lockup clutch to a slip engagement. The control method includes estimating a torque of the internal combustion engine generated by the fuel cut recovery when a fuel cut recovery condition is satisfied. The control method further includes decreasing a decrease amount of the lockup hydraulic pressure as the torque is greater.
Control device, transport apparatus, and method
The invention relates to a control device for controlling an engine driven transport apparatus. The control device comprises a fitness apparatus having a base part and at least one movable part movable with respect to the base part for enabling a user to perform a physical exercise. The control device further comprises a sensor device for sensing a degree of physical exercise. The control device is arranged for controlling engine power of an engine of the transport apparatus at least partly based on the sensed degree of physical exercise. The fitness apparatus comprises a flywheel rotatably connected to the base part. The fitness apparatus is arranged for setting the flywheel into motion by means of at least one of the one or multiple movable parts. The sensor device is arranged to sense the degree of performed physical exercise at least partly by sensing a degree of motion of the flywheel.
ENGINE SYSTEM AND ENGINE CONTROLLING METHOD
An engine system is provided, which includes a vehicle-mounted engine having an injector, a spark plug, and a property adjusting device, an accelerator opening sensor, and a controller. The controller performs a combustion control for controlling the injector, the spark plug, and the property adjusting device so that a target torque set based on a present accelerator opening detected by the accelerator opening sensor is outputted in a specific cycle in the future from a present time by a given delay time. In the combustion control, the controller sets a target load of the engine in the specific cycle based on the present accelerator opening, and sets a combustion transition from the present cycle to the specific cycle by selecting beforehand combustion from the present cycle to the specific cycle, from flame propagation combustion and compressed self-ignition combustion, based on the set target load.
Multi-function engine control and input system
An assembly for an engine includes a control module including a controller operable to control at least certain aspects of the operation of the engine, a display including an input connected to the controller, and a wireless receiver connected to the controller. The wireless receiver is arranged to receive a signal from a wireless device to cause the controller to send an engine start signal to cause starting of the engine and wherein the input when actuated causes the controller to send an engine start signal to cause starting of the engine. In at least some implementations, no keyed ignition switch is provided to start the engine and the engine is started only via the wireless device or the input.
Analog controller for electronic throttle body
A throttle assembly for an engine may include a remote throttle lever, a sensor, and a terminal. The remote throttle lever may be coupled physically to a user input device and operable to be moved under control of the user input device. The sensor is configured to detect a position of the remote throttle lever and generate an output signal indicative of the position of the remote throttle lever. The terminal configured to provide the output signal to a controller of the engine.
Robust control of rolling engine start-stop
Rolling engine start-stop (RESS) system and methods for a vehicle include a set of sensors configured to measure a set of operating parameters of the vehicle comprising at least (i) driver input via brake pedal of the vehicle, (ii) vehicle speed, and (iii) a steering angle of the vehicle and a controller configured to, based on the set of operating parameters, determine a target vehicle speed for stopping an engine of the vehicle, and based on the steering angle of the vehicle, selectively stopping the engine of the vehicle when the vehicle speed falls to the determined target vehicle speed, wherein stopping the engine of the vehicle at the determined target vehicle speed decreases noise/vibration/harshness (NVH) caused by stopping the engine.
POWERTRAIN CONTROL SYSTEM
A vehicle includes a transmission, a torque converter coupled to the transmission, a controller in communication with the transmission and the torque converter; a driver seat, a passenger seat, and a back seat coupled to the transmission, and sensors configured to detect occupancy of the seats. The sensors are in communication with the controller. The controller is programmed to receive data from the sensors, determine an occupancy status based on the occupancy data, set an engine operating parameter of one of the transmission and the torque converter based on the occupancy status, and control one of the transmission and the torque converter to operate according to the parameter.
