Methods and apparatuses for connecting multiple loads with a common return pin in engine control module application are disclosed. Only one of the multiple loads can be connected to a power source at a time. At the high side, each load is coupled to the power source through a respective pin at a connector. At the low side, the multiple loads share a common return pin at the connector that connects the loads to the ground. When a first load is connected to the power source at the high side, a first low side driver circuit is used to connect the first load to the ground at the low side. When a second load is connected to the power source at the high side, the second low side driver circuit is used to connect the second load to the ground at the low side.

Multi-function engine control and input system

An engine control and input system for a device having a tool driven by an engine, includes an input and control module having one or more inputs and a controller responsive to actuation of the inputs to permit user control of at least one engine operating parameter by user actuation of the inputs. The system may include a touch screen display that displays icons to the user relating to the inputs and the at least one engine operating parameter, and wherein the touch screen display is responsive to the user selecting one of the inputs by touching an associated one of the icons provided by the display. At least one of the inputs may relate to one or more of changing engine speed, starting the engine, causing the engine to drive the tool, turning on a light, actuating a heater or warmer or stopping engine operation.

In-vehicle semiconductor device

Even when a positive/negative surge is applied to a power-supply line, occurrence of malfunction in a semiconductor device is lessened. In an in-vehicle semiconductor device, regulators convert an externally-supplied voltage to generate voltages. A voltage monitoring unit includes a voltage monitoring circuit and a switch, and monitors first to third voltages. An internal circuit has a processor operated by the voltage, and an oscillator operated by the voltage and generating a clock signal to be provided the processor. The voltage monitoring unit stops providing the clock signal to the processor when the voltage level of at least any one of the first to third voltages is below a set value. The voltage monitoring unit provides the clock signal to the processor when the voltage levels of all the first to third voltages exceed the set value.

Engine governor

An electronic governor system includes a motor, a transmission coupled to the motor, a throttle plate coupled to the transmission, the throttle plate movable to multiple positions between closed and wide-open, wherein power is supplied to the motor to move the throttle pate to a desired position and wherein power is not supplied to the motor to maintain the throttle plate in the desired position.

Engine monitoring system

A controller associated with an engine monitoring system may determine a voltage value concerning at least one supercapacitor associated with the engine monitoring system. The controller may selectively cause, based on determining whether the voltage value satisfies a voltage value threshold, the at least one supercapacitor, or a battery associated with the engine monitoring system, to provide electrical power to a sensor system associated with the engine monitoring system. The controller may obtain, from the sensor system, vibration information relating to an engine associated with the engine monitoring system and pressure information relating to a crankcase of the engine. The controller may determine, based on the vibration information and the pressure information, engine speed information related to the engine and may send the engine speed information to a monitoring device.
