An intake duct for an internal combustion engine includes a plurality of segments coupled together into a tubular shape. The segments include at least a first segment and a second segment. The first segment is formed from a material harder than the second segment. The first segment includes a groove that extends in the extending direction in a portion coupled to the second segment and projections that project from one of two inner surfaces of the groove. The second segment is formed from a material that allows for elastic deformation. The second segment includes a rib. The rib extends in the extending direction and has a projection width that is less than the opening width of the groove. The rib is fitted into the groove so that the projections locally compress the rib in the width direction of the groove.

A cover covering an engine and an intake duct for introducing fresh air outside an engine room into a combustion chamber of the engine are provided in the engine room. The cover includes a top face cover portion covering the engine from above, and a side face cover portion covering the engine from the lateral side. The intake duct is disposed so as to be continuous to a side edge of the side face cover portion such that the intake duct covers the engine from the lateral side together with the side face cover portion.

ENGINE INTAKE SYSTEM

An intake system of an engine including an intake manifold, which includes an intake air introducing pipe and a plurality of independent intake pipes, is provided. Each of the independent intake pipes has an arc shape surrounding the intake air introducing pipe from outside with a space. A first independent intake pipe is curved more in the cylinder lined-up direction than a second. From the side in the cylinder lined-up direction, the arc shape of the second independent intake pipe is more distant from the intake air introducing pipe. To a first member constituting part of the intake air introducing pipe, a second member is joined to form the arc shape of the first independent intake pipe. A third member disposed radially outward from the first member is joined to the second member to form the arc shape of the second independent intake pipe.

A flow control member for a vehicle includes a body, a plurality of mounting tabs, and a panel member. The body has an outer surface and an inner surface. An air passage through the body is defined by the inner surface. A plurality of mounting tabs extends outwardly from the outer surface of the body. Each of the mounting tabs is configured to receive a fastener to connect the flow control member to an intake passage of the vehicle. A panel member is disposed in the air passage. The panel member defines a plurality of openings therethrough.

Engine intake system

An intake system of an engine including an intake manifold, which includes an intake air introducing pipe and a plurality of independent intake pipes, is provided. Each of the independent intake pipes has an arc shape surrounding the intake air introducing pipe from outside with a space. A first independent intake pipe is curved more in the cylinder lined-up direction than a second. From the side in the cylinder lined-up direction, the arc shape of the second independent intake pipe is more distant from the intake air introducing pipe. To a first member constituting part of the intake air introducing pipe, a second member is joined to form the arc shape of the first independent intake pipe. A third member disposed radially outward from the first member is joined to the second member to form the arc shape of the second independent intake pipe.

Resonator

A resonator includes: an inner pipe having first openings penetrated into an outer peripheral surface thereof from an inner peripheral surface thereof and second openings spaced apart from the first opening; a first cover adapted to allow a first resonant space to be formed between the outer peripheral surface of the inner pipe and the inner peripheral surface thereof, the first resonant space communicating with the internal space of the inner pipe through the first openings; and a second cover adapted to allow a second resonant space to be formed between the outer peripheral surface of the inner pipe and the inner peripheral surface thereof, the second resonant space communicating with the internal space of the inner pipe through the second openings.
