METHODS AND SYSTEM FOR INHIBITING AUTOMATIC ENGINE STOPPING
A method and system for operating a vehicle that includes a plurality of engine starting devices and an internal combustion engine is described. In one example, the method determines whether or not to inhibit automatic engine stopping so that a lifespan of an engine starting device may be extended. In one example, the inhibiting is based on a ratio of an actual total number of engine starts generated via the engine starting device to an actual total distance traveled by the vehicle since the engine starting device was installed.
Engine start control device
An engine start control device is provided with: a starter relay that is provided between a battery and a starter motor; a start abnormality determining means that determines the occurrence of start abnormality of an engine; and a start control means, which turns on the starter relay, and starts supplying power from the battery to the starter motor in the cases where a start instruction signal is inputted from a start switch, and which turns off the starter relay in the cases where the start abnormality determining means determined the occurrence of start abnormality of the engine.
Remote controlled engine revving
Methods and systems are provided for user controlled engine revving. In one example, the engine may be revved to a peak speed according to a target revving sequence in response to a user-initiated command. A revving sound may be provided in response to an input device, without demanding manual depression of an accelerator pedal.
Methods and system for operating an engine
Systems and methods for operating an engine that may be selectively automatically stopped and started are described. In one example, the method adjusts an amount of time that the engine may be inhibited from automatically stopping based on driver inputs such as driver demand pedal position, vehicle speed, and braking torque.
AUTOMATIC ENGINE SHUTDOWN AND STARTING FOR AN AUTONOMOUS MACHINE
In some implementations, a controller may determine whether a machine is operating in an autonomous mode or a manual mode. The controller may cause, based on a determination that the machine has been in an idle state for a first timer period, shutdown of an engine of the machine. The controller may monitor, based on a determination that the machine is operating in the autonomous mode, whether a condition for starting the engine is satisfied. The controller may cause, based on a determination that the engine has been shut down for a second timer period and that the condition is not satisfied, the machine to transition to a low power mode. The controller may cause, when the condition is satisfied, starting of the engine.
CONSTRUCTION MACHINE
A construction machine is provided, in which an electric application instruction detection section detects an electric application instruction of starting an electric application to an electronic device requiring operation confirmation prior to a start of an engine, a timer section measures elapsed time from a start of the electric application to the device, a battery control section executes control of starting the electric application to the device in response to detection of the instruction, an engine control section executes control of starting the engine in a case where a start manipulation is received before the elapsed time exceeds a first reference time set in advance, and a control device executes control of suppressing power consumption of a battery, when at least one power consumption suppression condition set in advance is satisfied after the electric application to the device is started and before the engine is started.
CONTROL APPARATUS FOR VEHICLE, CONTROL METHOD FOR, AND CONTROL SYSTEM FOR VEHICLE
A control apparatus for a vehicle disclosed herein is applied to a vehicle configured to perform pre-air conditioning of the interior of the vehicle by starting an internal combustion engine according to a remote control signal sent from a remote controller. When starting pre-air conditioning according to the remote control signal, the control apparatus sets the control mode of the vehicle to a drive-disabling mode, which is a control mode that disables an operation for driving the vehicle. If a specific mode-cancelling operation is detected in a situation in which the remote controller is present in the interior of the vehicle while the control mode of the vehicle is being set to the drive-disabling mode, the control apparatus cancels the drive-disabling mode while leaving the internal combustion engine operating.
Starting system for internal combustion engine and lawnmower including same
To prolong a lifetime of a starter battery, a starting system (5) for an internal combustion engine (3) includes: a starter battery (22) constituted of a lithium-ion battery and configured to supply electric power to a starter motor (21); and a controller (51) configured to drive the starter motor (21) by the electric power from the starter battery (22) to perform cranking operations of the engine (3) intermittently, wherein the controller (51) is configured to prohibit the cranking operations for a first time interval before the cranking operations are performed a prescribed number of times within a prescribed time window, and to prohibit the cranking operations for a second time interval longer than the first time interval right after the cranking operations are performed the prescribed number of times within the prescribed time window.
AUTONOMOUS DRIVING CONTROL METHOD AND DEVICE
A method for controlling autonomous driving in an autonomous vehicle includes detecting an autonomous driving-related critical situation during the autonomous driving, outputting a notification message requesting a control-right handover from an autonomous driving system to a human driver when the autonomous driving-related critical situation is detected, and activating a minimal risk maneuver (MRM) driving mode to deactivate the autonomous driving system when the control-right handover is not successful. In particular, when the minimal risk maneuver (MRM) driving mode is activated, the deactivated state of the autonomous driving system is maintained until an engine-restart of the autonomous vehicle is detected.
