An apparatus for converting wave energy into electrical energy including a float element excited at a defined frequency by the waves. A power extraction system collaborates with the float element to convert mechanical energy into electrical energy, the mechanical energy coming from the movement of the float element excited by the waves. The power extraction system takes the form of a frequency amplifier made up of at least two piezoelectric motors each composed of at least one piezoelectric post excited at a frequency higher than that of the float, and a member for activating said piezoelectric motors acting on the piezoelectric motors so as to squash said piezoelectric posts. Each piezoelectric motor has a mechanical amplification device connected to rollers and includes a) jaws able to apply mechanical stress to the posts, b) a lever acting on the jaws with a proximal end connected to said jaws and a distal end connected to a roller in contact with the member so as to activate said piezoelectric motor.

Eccentrically Rotating Mass Turbine

An energy storage and regeneration system that converts irregular, non-constant, and variable input power to regular, constant, and controlled output power using hydraulics whereby the irregular input power is used to pump hydraulic fluid into an accumulator array where it is stored pressurized. Energy is released in a controlled fashion using a hydraulic motor operated by the pressurized hydraulic fluid from the accumulator array, in accordance with the specified power demand. One or more power units may be deployed depending on the amount of energy required at the output. Each power unit includes a hydraulic motor and associated floating accumulator whose internal pressure is controlled to maintain a substantially constant pressure differential across its associated motor. The system can be integrated into various energy system sources including renewable energy such as wind, PV or thermal solar, wave, tidal, etc.

Free floating wave energy converter with control devices

A free floating wave energy converter includes a flexible pine and an inlet. The flexible pipe floats on water surface, following the wave form. Slugs of water and air enter, one after the other, through the inlet. Because the flexible pipe follows the shape of the wave, water is transported through a manifold to a pressure chamber connected to a generator. The inlet consists of hollow, inflexible pipe attached to the throat of the flexible pipe. The inflexible pipe is fixedly attached to a buoyancy tank or plurality thereof. The buoyancy tanks are arranged in a vertical plane or in tandem, with the inflexible pipe passing along the plane vertical to the fore and aft axis of the buoyancy tank and the frontward portion projecting sufficiently ahead of the buoyancy tank with the flexible pipe terminating at a singular outlet.
