MECHANICALLY DRIVEN MODULAR DIAPHRAGM PUMP

Modular mechanically driven diaphragm pump features are presented herein. Such a diaphragm pump can include a motor, a drive mechanism, and a coupling mounted on a wheeled frame. A diaphragm pump can be mounted to the coupling by forming mechanical static and dynamic connections to brace a housing of the diaphragm pump relative to a drive rod which is moved by the drive mechanism to operate the pump. These mechanical static and dynamic connections can be broken to dismount the pump for replacement or servicing. In some cases, a gas charge can be introduced on the non-working fluid side of the diaphragm to boost performance and/or a dampener can be integrated into the housing of the diaphragm pump and mounted/dismounted with the diaphragm pump.

An apparatus includes a bootstrap accumulator having multiple fluid expansion volumes each configured to receive fluid. The bootstrap accumulator also includes a piston assembly configured to move within the fluid expansion volumes based on pressures within the fluid expansion volumes. The piston assembly includes (i) a fluid pathway that couples the fluid expansion volumes and (ii) a bypass valve configured to selectively open or block the fluid pathway. The piston assembly could also include multiple pistons and a connecting rod coupling the pistons. The fluid pathway could include a narrower path through a first portion of the connecting rod and a wider path through a second portion of the connecting rod. The bypass valve could include a ball and a spring configured to push the ball to block the narrower path through the first portion of the connecting rod.

PULSATION DAMPER

A pulsation damper for a condensate pump comprising a housing defining a fluid chamber having a liquid inlet connectable to an outlet of the condensate pump, an air inlet, and a liquid outlet, wherein the air inlet includes a one-way valve configured to selectively introduce air into the housing to maintain a first air pocket within the fluid chamber as liquid flows through the fluid chamber, wherein the liquid outlet is located outside the first air pocket, and wherein the air pocket is configured to dissipate pulsations within liquid entering the housing at the liquid inlet prior to the liquid discharging via the liquid outlet.

Axial Piston Machine

An axial piston machine for at least one of a pump and a motor operation includes a housing, connection plate, piston drum, and working piston. The connection plate is connected to the housing. The piston drum is arranged on a rotatable drive shaft in the housing interior and defines at least one cylinder bore. The working piston is arranged in a longitudinally displaceable manner in the cylinder bore. The cylinder bore delimits a cylinder space having a changeable volume. The cylinder space is configured to connect to at least one pre-compression space via at least one hydraulic connection. The at least one pre-compression space is defined by a cavity within the connection plate. The cavity is defined by the connection plate and a closing element. The closing element is arranged between the connection plate and the housing interior.

Device and method for damping pressure fluctuations in the delivery line of a thick-matter pump

A device for damping pressure fluctuations in a delivery line of a thick-matter piston pump. The device includes a container communicating with the delivery line and at least partially filled with a compressible fluid. The container is adapted for a pulsing intake and output of transported material during the pumping operation. A controller adjusts the amount of the compressible fluid in the container as a function of operating parameters. The controller includes a pressure sensor for determining delivery pressure and an electronic computing unit. The computing unit determines and stores a pressure ratio V between delivery pressure values occurring during a working cycle of the thick-matter pump and during a switch-over phase between each working cycle of the pistons of the thick-matter pump. Alternately or additionally, the electronic computing unit may determine and store a mean value M of the delivery pressure over a time interval during the switch-over phase.
