ROTATIONAL METERING PUMP FOR INSULIN PATCH

A rotary pump for a fluid metering system is provided. The rotary pump reciprocates, and is reversed by a signal from a limit switch that is deflected by an actuator arm on a rotating sleeve of the pump system.

VARIABLE DISPLACEMENT FUEL PUMP BACKGROUND

A variable displacement fuel pump includes a pump body, a barrel disposed within the pump body, at least one piston disposed in the barrel, wherein the at least one piston is configured to reciprocate within the barrel, and an electronic control actuator operatively coupled to the barrel, wherein the control actuator rotates the barrel to a selected barrel angle relative to the at least one piston in response to a desired fuel flow.

Metering systems and methods are disclosed. A metering system is part of a larger fluidics sub-system that includes a flexible reservoir for storing insulin and a cannula assembly for delivering the insulin into sub-cutaneous tissue. The metering system draws a small dose of fluid from the reservoir and then pushes it down the cannula line and into the patient. The fluid dose is small relative to the reservoir volume, such that many pump strokes are required to completely empty the reservoir.

FLUID MACHINERY, HEAT EXCHANGE EQUIPMENT, AND OPERATING METHOD FOR FLUID MACHINERY

A fluid machinery, a heat exchange equipment, and an operating method for the fluid machinery. The fluid machinery includes: an upper flange (50); a lower flange (60); a cylinder (20); a rotating shaft (10), the axis of the rotating shaft (10) being eccentric to the axis of the cylinder (20) and at a fixed eccentric distance; and a piston component (30), the piston component (30) being provided with a variable volume cavity (31). Because the eccentric distance between the rotating shaft (10) and the cylinder (20) is fixed, the rotating shaft (10) and the cylinder (20) rotate around the respective axes thereof during motion, and the position of the center of mass remains unchanged, so that the piston component is allowed to rotate stably and continuously when moving within the cylinder (20); and vibration of the fluid machinery is effectively mitigated.

Occlusion detection techniques for a fluid infusion device having a rotary pump mechanism and an optical sensor

A fluid infusion device includes a fluid pump mechanism having a rotor and a stator. The rotor includes an optically detectable feature, a reference surface, and a cam element rising from the reference surface. The stator includes a cam element having a stator cam surface. The cam elements cooperate to axially displace the rotor as a function of angular position of the rotor, wherein the detectable feature rotates and axially translates as a function of angular position of the rotor. A biasing element provides force to urge the rotor cam element toward the stator cam element and toward the reference surface. A drive motor actuates the rotor to pump medication fluid from a fluid cartridge module to a body, via a subcutaneous conduit. An optical detection circuit interrogates the detectable feature during operation of the fluid pump mechanism to determine an operating condition of the fluid pump mechanism.

Rotational metering gasket pump

A rotary pump for a fluid metering system is provided. The rotary pump reciprocates, and is reversed by a signal from a limit switch that is deflected by an actuator arm on a rotating sleeve of the pump system. The sleeve receives a gasket that forms a seal between the sleeve and the housing, the gasket having an opening surrounding a side hole of the sleeve to permit fluid to pass through the side hole between a pump volume and an inlet port or outlet port of the housing.
