An inlet valve system (10), as may be used for a cylinder chamber (20) of a compressor, such as a reciprocating compressor, is disclosed. A plurality of inlet valves (250) is movable between an open position and a closed position. The plurality of inlet valves is arranged between an unloader chamber (120) and a cylinder chamber (20) of the compressor. A control valve (270, 270′) is coupled to a controller (300) and is movable between a first position and a second position to close the inlet valves. A check valve (260, 260′) is movable between a first position and a second position to open the inlet valves. The check valve and the control valve are respectively fluidly coupled to a control chamber (252), which is decoupled from any pressure control external to cylinder chamber (20).

An unloader valve includes a seat including a plurality of inlet apertures spaced apart from one another and extending through the seat along one of a plurality of parallel inlet axes. A manifold plate is fixedly connected to the seat and includes a plurality of outlet apertures, each spaced apart from one another and extending through the manifold plate along one of a plurality of parallel outlet axes. The unloader valve also includes a plurality of plug holes, a control chamber formed in the manifold plate, and a control space fully defined by the manifold plate and arranged to fluidly connect the control chamber and each of the plug holes to one another. The unloader valve also includes a control member disposed within the control chamber and movable between a first position in which the control space is exposed to a pressure source, and a second position in which the control space is isolated and a plurality of plugs, each positioned within one of the plug holes and movable between a closed position in which each plug closes one of the inlet apertures and an open position in which the plurality of inlet openings are in fluid communication with the plurality of outlet openings.

The poppet valve including a valve body with a plurality of passage channels, a plurality of closing elements, a plurality of guide means, and a catcher. Each passage channel opening into a valve seat. A closing element is mounted on each guide means movable in a stroke direction. A closing element is associated with each valve seat opposite in the stroke direction, so that valve seats can be closed by the closing elements. Guide means are connected to the catcher, each having a guide section with an inner cavity extending in the stroke direction and a support section bearing surface. The spring extends in the inner cavity of the guide section and is clamped between the bearing surface and the closing element. Guide means have a first stop surface towards the valve seat, closing elements have a second stop surface towards the first stop surface to limit closing element travel.

Reciprocating Gas Compressor Valve

A reciprocating gas compressor valve having a plurality of clusters of kidney shaped holes positioned along a common circular or annular locus in the main body and a sealing element with a top portion, a bottom portion and a tubular section. The tubular section is integrally connected to the top portion and bottom portion. In an open position, a flow pathway is provided through the clusters of kidney shaped holes and the tubular section and the bottom profile abuts a stop surface of the valve. In a closed position, the top profile abuts the seat for sealing gas flow within the valve.

An annular valve in which the shape of a sealing surface of a valve body is optimized thus suppressing the occurrence of pressure loss in gas on the periphery of the sealing surface and extending the service life of the annular valve. The annular valve comprises: a valve seat 10 formed in a plate-like shape and including passage flow channels 11 each having an opening cross section formed in an arcuate shape; a receiving plate 20 formed in a plate-like shape and having discharge flow channels 21, the receiving plate 20 being arranged to face the valve seat 10 by way of an intermediate chamber 50; a valve body 30 formed in an annular shape corresponding to the arcuate shape of the opening cross section of the passage flow channel 11 and being arranged in the intermediate chamber 50, the valve body 30 being brought into contact with/separated from the valve seat 10 so as to open/close the passage flow channel 11; and a plurality of spring members 40 supported by the receiving plate 20, the spring members 40 each biasing elastically the valve body 30 toward the valve seat 10. A sealing surface 31 of the valve body 30 that faces the passage flow channel 11 is formed in a shape where at least one of pressure loss elements with respect to gas flowing towards the valve body 30 from the passage flow channel 11 is eliminated.

A compressor valve suitable for use in a compressor is provided. The compressor valve comprises a first body member and a second body member. The first body member and the second body member each define a set of suction flow passages in fluid communication with each other between the suction passage and a cylinder of the compressor, and a set of compression flow passages in fluid communication with each other between the cylinder and the discharge passage. The valve includes a suction seal and a compression seal, both located at least partially between the first body member and the second body member. The suction seal is movable between a closed position and an open position. The suction seal is biased to a closed position against the flow of fluid from the suction passage to the cylinder. The suction seal and the compression seal are biased by helical coil springs.
