An axial alignment assembly (100) comprising a first body and a second body. The first body has a substantially cylindrical outer jacket, and has a first alignment axis. The second body comprises a substantially cylindrical inner jacket, and has a second alignment axis. The second body is positioned with respect to said first body in so that said inner jacket faces said outer jacket and in between said inner jacket and said outer jacket a substantially annular recess is formed. The axial alignment assembly further comprises a plurality of resilient elements that are positioned within said annular recess, wherein each resilient element is in contact with said outer jacket of said first body and with said inner jacket of said second body. Each resilient element exerts a force onto said outer jacket and onto said inner jacket for aligning said first alignment axis and said second alignment axis.

STRUT BEARING ASSEMBLY WITH METAL GUIDE RING AND SPRING SEAT

A suspension strut bearing assembly for connection between a portion of a suspension strut and a vehicle body. The bearing assembly includes an upper spring plate having an upper surface, a lower surface, and an opening defined therethrough, accommodates the piston rod of the shock absorber. The upper surface includes a first, concave race configured to receive rolling elements, and the lower surface includes a spring seat that is adapted to receive a suspension spring. An upper bearing washer that includes a second race that faces the first concave race 26 is provided. Rolling elements are located between the first, concave race and the second race. A retainer retains the upper bearing washer to the spring plate. The assembly eliminates the need for a separate lower bearing washer.

The invention relates to a suspension stop with an upper cup and a lower cup arranged to form between them an annular chamber which is delimited laterally by two walls. The chamber having an external section formed between a bearing surface of each wall respectively, the suspension stop having an external sealing element with two complementary bearing surfaces. The external sealing element is mounted to be mobile in the external section between a stable position in which the complementary bearing surfaces are arranged at a distance from the bearing surfaces of the external section and a stressed position by bearing on the external sealing element in which the complementary bearing surfaces are forced against one of the bearing surfaces to ensure the sealing of the external section at the interface thereof.

Composite bearing and method of making and using the same

An assembly including an inner member; an outer member; and a bearing including a bearing sidewall including a flat portion, a first convex axial end, and a second convex axial end, where at least one of the inner member or the outer member is adapted to axially translate relative to the bearing, and where at least one of the first convex axial end or the second convex axial end is adapted to induce formation of a film on the bearing sidewall during the axial translation of at least one of the inner member or the outer member.

Strut mount bearing unit

A strut mount and bearing assembly includes a strut mount having upper and lower ends, a central bore for receiving a shock absorber end and an annular upper race surface between the upper and lower ends and extending circumferentially about the bore. The upper end is fixedly connectable with a vehicle body and has a flat attachment surface disposeable against a vehicle surface of the vehicle body. A first bearing race is disposed on the mount and a spring seat having a second bearing race is movably coupled with the strut mount. The seat also has a lower end with spring engagement surface and a second bearing race is disposed on the seat spaced axially from the first bearing race. Rolling elements are disposed between the first and second bearing races to form a bearing. The various components are formed and sized to make an axially compact assembly.
