A small and compact rotation transmitter includes a torque limiter and an angular position holding apparatus. An outer race member is installed in a housing, and a coil spring is mounted on the outer peripheral surface thereof. Inside the outer race member, an internal space is formed, and an inner race member is installed concentrically with the outer race member. In the annular space between the outer and inner race members, a thin-plate elastic piece is pressed against the outer and inner race members, and either the outer or inner race member is connected to an input-side device while the other is connected to an output-side device. Even without rotation torque, the position of the output-side device is held by the coil spring. When the rotation torque from the input-side device becomes excessive, slippage occurs on the thin-plate elastic piece, whereby the outer and inner race members are disconnected.

The tuning device also has a free running zone providing a decoupling function for the system, allowing the tuning device to be both a driver and a generator of power. The tuning device has all of the belt pulley, a spring retainer, a torsion spring, a stop ring, and a shaft fixed in relation to each other.

Pulley structure

A pulley structure may be equipped with an outer rotating body, an inner rotating body, and a coil spring provided between the outer rotating body and the inner rotating body. The coil spring is configured so as to undergo torsional deformation in a diameter-expanding or a diameter-contracting direction, thereby engaging the outer rotating body and the inner rotating body and transmitting torque, and to undergo torsional deformation in the direction opposite the direction in which torque is transmitted, thereby entering a disengaged state in which the coil spring slides with the outer rotating body or the inner rotating body, thus interrupting the transmission of torque. The number of windings of the coil spring is in a range between [M-0.125] and M (both inclusive), where M is a natural number.

Air disc brake adjuster mechanism

An adjuster for an air disc brake includes an over-torque clutch arrangement that includes an adjuster drive plate having ramped detents, and a ball-carrying plate having pockets for retaining ball bearings. Ball bearings are carried and retained in the ball-carrying plate, and transmit rotation between the adjuster drive plate and the ball-carrying plate below a torque threshold. Above a torque threshold, the balls move axially away from the adjuster drive plate against the force of a spring, and ride up the ramped detents. Above the torque threshold, rotation is not transmitted.

A clutch system includes a rotary input member, a wrap spring clutch and a rotary output member. The wrap spring clutch has a first end, a second end, and a plurality of coils. The stiffness of the wrap spring clutch is selected such that, when transmitting less than a selected coil engagement torque, the clutch system transmits torque helically from the rotary input member, to the second end, helically through the wrap spring clutch to the first end, and into the rotary output member. When transmitting more than the selected coil engagement torque, the clutch system transmits torque in parallel from the rotary input member, to the second end, helically through the wrap spring clutch to the first end, and into the rotary output member, and from the rotary input member through the coil engagement surface, to the first end, and into the rotary output member.

The constraining surface is configured to be capable of constraining the other end region of the torsion coil spring before press fitting so as to prevent a displacement of an axis of the torsion coil spring before the press fitting with respect to an axis of the other rotation body.
