Composite twin beam main landing gear for an aircraft

A main landing gear assembly for an aircraft has an upper beam and a lower beam. The proximal ends of the upper and lower beams are each connected to a trunnion assembly that is mounted on the fuselage or wing of the aircraft. The distal ends of the upper and lower beams are each affixed to an axel support structure on which a main wheel of the landing gear assembly is mounted. In the gear assembly, the upper beam and the lower beam are coplanar and act together, in combination, to accommodate a planar flexure of the gear assembly during aircraft takeoffs and landings.

DEVICE COMPRISING A SET OF VIBRATION ABSORBERS AND VEHICLE EQUIPPED WITH SUCH A DEVICE

The invention relates to a device comprising a body and a set of vibration absorbers mounted on the body, each absorber being movable relative to the body between a first position and a second position, each absorber being capable of oscillating relative to the body between its first and second positions, a first natural frequency being defined for each absorber, at least one absorber having a first natural frequency different from the first natural frequency of another absorber.

Each absorber comprises at least one deformation part capable of deforming as the vibration absorber oscillates between its first position and its second position, the deformation part having at least two faces configured to rub against each other during the deformation of the deformation part.

BEARING FOR STEERING ASSEMBLY

A bearing for disposition between a housing and a rotating member, the bearing including: at least one leaf spring element that provides a biasing force in a Y direction; where the bearing has a first stiffness, S.sub.1, in the Y direction and a second stiffness, S.sub.2, in an X direction perpendicular to the Y direction, where S.sub.2≥S.sub.1, and where the bearing includes a metal substrate and a low friction layer overlying at least one surface of the substrate and adapted to contact the rotating member.

Steering assembly

A steering assembly having an inner steering member; an outer member, where the inner steering member is adapted to translate relative to outer member; and a bearing component disposed around a portion of the inner steering member, where the bearing component includes a bearing having a unitary substrate and a polymer layer overlying the substrate, where the bearing has a generally arcuate shape and is adapted to support the inner steering member disposed in the outer member, where the bearing has a support region for supporting an inner steering member, and a plurality of feet comprising a first foot and second foot spaced apart from each other such that the support region extends there between, and where the first and second feet extend in radial direction beyond the support region such that upon assembly between inner steering member and outer member, wherein the bearing exerts a force against the inner steering member.

Steering assembly

A steering assembly including an inner steering member; an outer steering member; a leaf spring disposed between the inner steering member and the outer steering member and adapted to bias the inner steering member, wherein the leaf spring comprises an inner portion and a plurality of outer portions, wherein the outer portions comprise end portions of the leaf spring that are folded over such that the outer portions overlie the inner portion, forming a folded edge; and a low friction layer supported by the leaf spring.

MOUNTING

An improved shock isolating mounting comprising at least three substantially U-shaped leaf spring members, each leaf spring member comprising at least two leafs arranged to define a space therebetween. In one arrangement, the respective at least three substantially U-shaped leaf spring members are arranged in an array having a substantially equal angular spacing between adjacent spring members.
