Frictional damper

A frictional damper is designed with a tubular housing having a longitudinal axis, with a tappet, which is displaceable in the housing along the longitudinal axis and is led out at an open end of the housing, with a frictional element lying against the tappet and with a cap attached to the open end of the housing with axial prestressing relative to the longitudinal axis.

Coupling system for reducing fatigue and dynamic amplification of loads in objects

A coupling system can include an energy transfer device and a load mitigation system. The energy transfer device can include a shaft, gear, chain or piston-cylinder arrangement to transfer the energy from a power supply to an object to be moved. The load mitigation system can be used to limit or prevent the transfer of forces from the object to the drive unit as a result of external loads being applied to the object. The load mitigation system can be pre-loaded such that external loads on the object having an excessive impulsive or resonant cyclic force greater than the pre-load force on the load mitigation system are reduced and only partially transferred to the energy transfer device and power supply. The load mitigation system can dampen both resonant loads and impulsive impact loads occurring at the object thereby preventing damage and extending life.

Self-centering viscous damper with pre-pressed ring springs

Disclosed is a self-centering viscous damper with pre-pressed ring springs. The self-centering viscous damper with pre-pressed ring springs comprises a first inner cylinder, a second inner cylinder, a third inner cylinder, an outer cylinder, a first end cover, a second end cover, a piston, a piston rod, a ring spring, a first connector, a second connector, a first linking nut, a second linking nut, a first outer cover, a second outer cover, a first end and a second end. Due to the interaction between the inner and outer cylinders, the ring springs are further pressed whether a damper is tensioned or pressed. The ring springs have been applied with pre-pressure which overcomes a frictional force and a restoring force when the ring springs are in an initial equilibrium position.

A Suspension System for Adjusting Projected Light Images
20220035228 · 2022-02-03 · ·

A suspension system including a set of optics which adjust the size and focus of the projection image originating at a Digital Micro-Mirror Device mirror set. The suspension and adjustment system for these optics may be mounted between the Digital Micro-Mirror Device housing and the optics carrier. This system has the capability to both adjust the resulting size and focus of the image at the same distance to a wall, as well as adjust for out-of-plane issues which often result in skewed images. This results in an adjustable focal and image size differing from the manufacturer's intended throw pattern and allowing broader use of the projector to make smaller images at the same throw distance.

PRELOADED STRUT

A strut suitable for use in parallel manipulator and other applications utilizes an actuation member that is subjected to a quasi-static axial tensioning force to effectively preload the strut to provide axial stiffness and bending flexibility at one or more ends of the strut.

A method of manufacturing a damping device, notably for a steering tie rod, the said device comprising a rod which extends along a main axis and which is intended to be connected to a first mechanical component, a securing portion which surrounds the said rod and which is intended to be connected to a second mechanical component, and a sleeve made of elastomeric material which is arranged between the rod and the fixing bushing so as, through elastic deformation thereof, to allow at least axial movement of the fixing bushing with respect to the rod, in which method the fixing bushing is offset axially with respect to the rod to force the elastic deformation of the sleeve and the introduction of a corresponding preload, then the sleeve is locked so as to keep it, when the device is at rest, in a state of permanent axial elastic deformation and preload.
