11519522 · 2022-12-06 · ·

A live load stinger apparatus and method which operate to automatically deliver an additional amount of an injectable packing material or grease into the stem packing chamber of a valve assembly in order to prevent stem leaks from occurring.

BALL CONTROL VALVES HAVING THREE-DIMENSIONAL TORTUOUS PATH FLOWPATHS

A valve body, for use in a valve housing having an inlet and outlet, includes a spherical outer surface. A flow opening extends diametrically from one side of the outer surface to an opposing side. A plurality of flow control passageways extend from the outer surface into the valve body. The valve body is moveable relative to the valve housing between a closed position, a restricted flow position, and a free flow position. In the closed position, the flow opening and all of the plurality of flow control passageways are out of alignment with the inlet and outlet. In the restricted flow position, at least one flow control passageway is moved into fluid communication with the inlet and outlet to facilitate fluid communication therebetween. In the free flow position, the flow opening is moved into fluid communication with the inlet and outlet to facilitate fluid communication therebetween.

Ball valve structure

A ball valve structure includes a valve body having a valve chamber therein. A valve ball is accommodated in the valve chamber. The valve ball defines a flow hole therein. Two gaskets are in close contact with two opposite side surfaces of the valve ball, so that the valve ball can rotate around a fixed point in the valve chamber. One side of one of the two gaskets abuts against a washer and a compression spring, so that the gasket is elastically pressed against a surface of the valve ball. A valve stem is connected to the valve ball through the valve body for driving the valve ball to rotate, enabling the flow hole to be opened.

Valve with pressure differential seating

A valve for use in oil and gas production or similar applications includes a plug or other flow barrier disposed in a cavity of a hollow valve body with a metal-to-metal sealing surface that is not reliant on any rubberized or elastomeric material to effect a seal.

Valve device

A valve device includes: a ball valve having a ball face shaped in a convex spherical surface; and a valve seat having a seat face shaped in a concave spherical surface. The seat face is pressed onto the ball face. The ball valve is rotated to open a valve by communicating a valve opening defined in the ball valve and a seat opening defined in the valve seat with each other, and to close the valve by stop the communication. A diameter of the seat opening Φ2 is smaller than a diameter of the valve opening Φ1. A curvature radius of the ball face R1 is smaller than or equal to a curvature radius of the seat face is R2.

Method of seating a valve seal

A method of sealing a coolant control valve of a cooling system for a power device which generates heat as a by-product of operation. The cooling system includes a pump, a heat exchanger, and coolant. The valve includes: an internal channel in fluid communication with the exchanger; a sealing package in contact a surface of the coolant control valve and bounding a portion of the cooling system and the channel; and a rotary element in the channel and rotatable to open and close the valve. The portion is bounded in part by the valve and the sealing package. The method includes: starting-up the device; creating a pressure differential of at least 0.2 bar between the coolant in the portion of the cooling system, and the coolant in the internal channel; rotating, using a motor, the rotary element; opening the valve; and pumping, using the pump, the coolant through the internal channel.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR RISING STEM BALL VALVES

A ball valve system includes a body having an upstream end and a downstream end and a ball within the body between the upstream end and the downstream end, the ball being rotatable about a vertical axis to move between a closed position and an open position. The ball valve assembly includes a stem movable in an actuation direction substantially parallel to the vertical axis, the stem including a recess at a proximal portion of the stem, a guiding member extending within the recess of the stem, the guiding member being configured to prevent rotation of the stem or cause rotation of the stem, and a lubrication port in fluid communication with the recess.

Ball valve with pistoning seating surfaces

Valves having seats and counterseats that can be moved by fluid within the valve. In one embodiment, a valve includes a flow control assembly inside a body. The flow control assembly includes a ball rotatable between an open position and a closed position to control flow, a seat installed on the ball, and a counterseat installed in the body. The seat and the counterseat can move radially with respect to the ball and have mating surfaces that engage and seal against one another when the ball is in the closed position. The flow control assembly allows pressurized fluid in the body to cause net forces on the seat and the counterseat that push the seat and the counterseat toward each other when the ball is in the closed position. Additional valve systems, devices, and methods are also disclosed.
