Swivel joint with electrical conductivity grease fitting
11674623 · 2023-06-13 · ·

A swivel joint includes a tail section and a body portion that define a passageway therethrough and which can rotate relative to one another. One or more seals and bearings can be disposed between the tail section and the body portion. An electrical conductivity grease fitting can be mounted within a bore hole in the body portion. The electrical conductivity grease fitting can have a lubricant passed therethrough to lubricate the bearings. The electrical conductivity grease fitting has a first portion in electrical communication with the body portion and a second portion that is biased into electrical communication with the tail section to maintain electrical conductivity between the tail section and the body portion.

Spoolable swivel

A spoolable swivel, methods, and systems for coupling a first and second length of coiled tubing. The spoolable swivel can include an inner tubular element and an outer tubular element. The inner tubular element and the outer tubular element can both have dimpled distal ends and races on their proximal ends, defining one or more annular voids for swivel bearings.

Swivel knuckle connection

A swivel knuckle assembly for interconnecting a motor and a supply line. The knuckle assembly may include a bearing member to reduce a coefficient of friction. A locking mechanism is disclosed to connect members of the knuckle assembly.

High pressure swivel joint

A high pressure swivel joint used in pipe assemblies transferring high pressure fluid. The swivel joint comprises a first pipe section and a sleeve-like second pipe section. The first pipe section is inserted into the second pipe section and the sections are relatively rotatable. A wear ring is positioned within a recess formed in the inner wall of the first pipe section. A second wear ring is positioned within a recess formed in the inner wall of the second pipe section.

A radial seal is seated in a groove formed in either the outer circumference of the first pipe section, or the inner circumference of the second pipe section. The groove is axially spaced from the location where the two pipe sections abut. Alternatively, a groove may be formed in both the outer circumference of the first pipe section and the inner circumference of the second pipe sections, the grooves both being axially spaced from the location where the two pipe sections abut. A radial seal may be inserted in both grooves and a wear ring positioned between the seals.

Hydraulic rotary feed-through

A hydraulic rotary feed-through with a neck which is accommodated in a housing via a bearing arrangement and through a pressurized fluid line extends to a pressure space with a seal arrangement provided axially between the pressure space and the bearing arrangement, the bearing arrangement and the seal arrangement are disposed in frames which are accommodated in the housing axially engaged with one another under pressure.

Rotating Conduit Joints

A rotating conduit joint has a pair of conduits engaged with a bearing set. The bearing set has an outer race an inner race separated by ball bearings. The conduits have clearance holes aligned with radial holes in the races. Screw fasteners are engaged with the clearance holes and radial holes to secure the conduits to the bearing set in mutual rotation. The radial holes may be filled with a lubricant. Furthermore, the radial holes may be of constant diameter, conical, or threaded and may be open to the ball bearings to deliver the lubricant to the ball bearings.
