An apparatus according to which a power end of a reciprocating pump assembly includes a block having bores formed therethrough, and crossheads disposed in the bores and adapted to reciprocate therein. A lubrication pump is in fluid communication with the bores. The pump is operable to pump lubrication fluid into each of the bores so that the crossheads are lubricated as they reciprocate within their respective bores. In another aspect, a power end includes a crosshead block and a power frame connected thereto, the frame including rib plates and supporting the crosshead block. In yet another aspect, a method includes casting a crosshead block; fabricating rib plates; connecting the rib plates to form a frame; and connecting the cast crosshead block to the frame. In some embodiments, the power ends may be used in oilfield operations such as, for example, the cementing, acidizing, or fracturing of a subterranean wellbore.

A lubricant pump (14) and a method thereof are disclosed. The lubricant pump (14) includes a pump base (32) and a reservoir housing (30). The pump base (32) and the reservoir housing (30) define a lubricant reservoir for storing lubricant. One or more pump elements (34) extend at least partially into the lubricant reservoir. Heaters (36) are disposed on the pump base (32) proximate the pump elements (34). The heaters (36) are configured to heat the local area surrounding the pump elements (34), to thereby reduce the viscosity of the lubricant at the pump elements (34). The heaters (36) are electrically connected to a thermal switch (38) to control activation and deactivation of the heaters (36). With the lubricant pump (14) and the method thereof, the thermal switch (38) can control the heater (36) based on air temperature rather than the temperature of the lubricant, so the viscosity of lubricant is well controlled.

A lubricant pump (14) and a method thereof are disclosed. The lubricant pump (14) includes a pump base (32) and a reservoir housing (30). The pump base (32) and the reservoir housing (30) define a lubricant reservoir for storing lubricant. One or more pump elements (34) extend at least partially into the lubricant reservoir. Heaters (36) are disposed on the pump base (32) proximate the pump elements (34). The heaters (36) are configured to heat the local area surrounding the pump elements (34), to thereby reduce the viscosity of the lubricant at the pump elements (34). The heaters (36) are electrically connected to a thermal switch (38) to control activation and deactivation of the heaters (36). With the lubricant pump (14) and the method thereof, the thermal switch (38) can control the heater (36) based on air temperature rather than the temperature of the lubricant, so the viscosity of lubricant is well controlled.

Grease discharge device

A grease discharge device includes a motor, a plunger, a grease supply unit, a pump, a check valve, and a relief valve. The plunger reciprocates by driving of the motor. The grease supply unit supplies grease to a forward movement side with respect to a backward movement side dead center of the plunger. The pump performs a discharge behavior of the grease by the reciprocation of the plunger. The check valve is disposed at a downstream side with respect to a forward movement side dead center of the plunger in a discharge path of the grease inside the pump. The relief valve is disposed between a supply portion of the grease by the grease supply unit and the check valve. The relief valve releases the grease inside the discharge path to the grease supply unit side according to a pressure rise inside the discharge path.

Grease discharge device

A grease discharge device includes a motor, a plunger, a grease supply unit, a pump, a check valve, and a relief valve. The plunger reciprocates by driving of the motor. The grease supply unit supplies grease to a forward movement side with respect to a backward movement side dead center of the plunger. The pump performs a discharge behavior of the grease by the reciprocation of the plunger. The check valve is disposed at a downstream side with respect to a forward movement side dead center of the plunger in a discharge path of the grease inside the pump. The relief valve is disposed between a supply portion of the grease by the grease supply unit and the check valve. The relief valve releases the grease inside the discharge path to the grease supply unit side according to a pressure rise inside the discharge path.
