Vehicle light assembly having a light projection apparatus

A vehicle, a vehicle light system, a light projection apparatus for implementation in the vehicle light system, a computer-implemented method of operating a vehicle, and a computer program product for operating a vehicle. The light projection apparatus is controlled to generate one or more projections of a graphical image, pattern, text, symbol, character, geometric shape, indicia, or combinations thereof on a target roadway surface (e.g., projection surface, road surface, etc.) to visually indicate an intended or actual implementation of a vehicle maneuver (e.g., change of lane and/or left or right turn) and/or an intended actuation of the vehicle braking. The one or more projection(s) would be supplemental to the use of forward and rear turn signal light indicators.

Lighting device and vehicle lamp having same

The lighting device disclosed in the embodiment includes a substrate, a light emitting device disposed on a lower surface of the substrate, a reflective layer disposed to face a light emitting surface of the light emitting device, a first resin layer disposed between the substrate and the reflective layer, and a light-transmission control layer disposed on an upper surface of the substrate, wherein the light-transmission control layer may include a liquid crystal layer including a cholesteric liquid crystal, and light emitted through the light emitting surface of the light emitting device may be reflected by the reflective layer and be provided to the light-transmission control layer through the substrate.

VARIABLE TRANSMITTANCE LAMINATE WITH EMBEDDED THERMALLY CONDUCTIVE MULTI-LAYER

Aspects of the disclosure include variable transmittance laminates having an embedded thermally conductive multi-layer for auto-shading applications. An exemplary vehicle includes a lighting system having a light source and a housing for the light source. A variable transmittance laminate is positioned such that light emitted from the housing passes through the variable transmittance laminate. The variable transmittance laminate includes a thermally conductive multi-layer and an auto-shading film on the thermally conductive multi-layer. The auto-shading film includes discrete substructures which vary in alignment in response to an electric field. A wire is embedded in the auto-shading film and a controller is electrically coupled to the wire. The controller switchably causes the wire to deliver the electric field to the discrete substructures. The variable transmittance laminate has a first transmittance when a switch is in a first state and a second transmittance when the switch in in a second state.

A vehicle lamp, which reflects light of a predetermined color using ambient light and emits light of a predetermined pattern using internal light, includes: a light source that emits light; a lens disposed in a light emission path of the light source; and a main film attached to the lens. The main film includes: a color layer that reflects ambient light in a predetermined color; and a functional layer that selectively transmits the light emitted from the light source.

Illumination device for a motor vehicle

An illumination device for a motor vehicle having a printed circuit board with a plurality of light emitting diodes disposed thereon. An optical pane and a reflector element are provided, whereby the reflector element is disposed between the printed circuit board and the optical pane. The reflector element has a plurality of segments into which the reflector element is divided. Each light emitting diode is assigned a segment so that light emitted from the light emitting diodes is reflected by the segments of the reflector element and passes through the optical pane.

Vehicle lamp apparatus

A vehicle lamp apparatus has an adaptive driving beam lamp unit, and a controller. The adaptive driving beam lamp unit contains a plurality of individually controllable pixels, and is structured to emit a lamp beam with a light distribution that corresponds to states of the pixels. The controller is structured to control the light distribution of the adaptive driving beam lamp unit. The vehicle lamp apparatus can form an aiming light distribution in an aiming mode. The aiming light distribution contains a cross pattern whose cross point falls on a position that corresponds to an elbow point of a low-beam light distribution.
