Optics for aisle lighting
11512834 · 2022-11-29 · ·

An optic for aisle lighting includes a portion of an optical material defined by a length and a cross-sectional profile. The cross-sectional profile is characterized by a cavity within the optical material, two upwardly-facing surfaces of the optical material on opposite sides of the cavity from one another, and downwardly-facing surfaces of the optical material. The cavity is bounded by an upward facing aperture, and at least three faces of the optical material that meet at interior angles. Light received through the upward facing aperture is separated at the interior angles, and refracted by the faces of the optical material, into separate light beams equal in number to the faces. The two upwardly-facing surfaces internally reflect the separate light beams downwardly. The downwardly-facing surfaces intercept respective portions of the separate light beams, and refract the portions as they exit the optic.

A junction box cover assembly for attachment over an opening in an electrical junction box allows for a concealed connection to avoid detracting from the lighting fixture. The assembly includes a cover plate capable of being mounted to a junction box, the cover plate having an opening there through defined by a first threaded collar extending from the cover plate, a hub having a flange radially extending from a periphery of a second threaded collar defining a passage and configured to attach to the first threaded collar of the cover plate, and a circular insert detachably connected within the passage defined by the threaded collar, the circular insert having an opening for passing electrical wiring from the junction box through the passage, out the insert opening and to a light fixture. The cover plate and the radially extending flange somewhat sandwich a surface, such as drywall or wallboard, and the flange is configured to permit covering with spackling paste or joint compound to conceal the flange.

Couplers for light fixtures

Disclosed is a junction device for joining adjacent housing sections of a light fixture housing assembly, having a junction body structure formed from at least one junction body segment. A plurality of coupling units, each with at least one first boundary including at least one male portion or at least one female portion. The male and/or female portions are configured to enable each corresponding portion a first of the coupling units to receive the male portion of a second of the coupling units. Each of at least two of the coupling units including a first segment formed with the at least one junction body segment at respective first boundaries with the corresponding male or female portions extending therefrom. Each of the male and female portions is configured to be associated with a first locking structure to lock the female and male portions together to form the assembled light fixture housing.

Light fixture installation adapters and methods thereof are disclosed. According to an aspect, a light fixture installation adapter includes a first bracket configured to be attached to a light fixture. The adapter also includes a second bracket configured to be attached to an electrical junction box. Further, the adapter includes a mounting assembly that has a first component and a second component attached to the first bracket and the second bracket, respectively. The first component is configured to engage with and to attach to the second component when the first component is oriented in a predetermined position with respect to the second component and when the first component is moved in one or more predetermined directions with respect to the second component for attaching the first bracket to the second bracket via the mounting assembly.

Lighting assembly

A modular lighting assembly uses LED banks as the light sources. The assembly allows the power supply and LED banks to be independently replaced. The assembly uses a power supply that is separated from the LED banks and electrically connected to the LED banks with a plug connector that may be unplugged and plugged back in to allow the power supply or LED bank to be independently and readily replaced. The assembly provides for easy replacement of the different components of the assembly. One feature that makes the components easier to replace is that the light modules and/or the power supply may be carried by the housing that is removable from the base mount that is secured to a mounting structure such as a wall or ceiling.
