A lighting system includes an LED downlight mountable to a ceiling, a driver, and an insulation displacement connector (IDC). Light from the downlight can be faced downward to project light or upward to reflect light off of the ceiling. The driver has an input with a first voltage and an output with a second voltage, the second voltage being lower than the first and being provided through a wire system extending from the LED driver. The IDC connects the downlight to the wire system. The lighting system can be changed from a first to a second configuration by at least one of adding an additional downlight using a corresponding IDC or removing an existing downlight using a corresponding IDC. The second configuration does not significantly affect a desired output range of light from any downlight or any LED circuit of any downlight that remains or preexists from the first configuration.

LIGHT FIXTURE MOUNTING BRACKET ASSEMBLY

A mounting plate assembly has a mounting plate for mounting a light fixture in holes of different diameters and wherein a guide rail assembly is secured to a rear face of the mounting plate on opposed sides of an aperture. Each guide rail assembly has a novel displaceable spring clamp structure having to a displaceable base coupled for sliding displacement along a guide rail assembly. Spring biasing elements are provided between the displaceable base and the guide rail assembly to urge a bottom face of the displaceable base against a flat top surface of a mounting base to which the guide rails are secured. A retention formation is provided in the bottom surface of the displaceable base for retention coupling with a selected one of space-apart engageable retainers immovably secured to the flat top surface of the mounting base and aligned with the retention formation to arrest the displaceable base at a desired location to position the spring clamp structures at a desired location with respect to the size of a hole formed in the sheet material and to which a light fixture is to be secured.

Stern light
11560206 · 2023-01-24 ·

The present disclosure is directed to a stern light for illuminating a watercraft without visually impairing a passenger of the watercraft. The stern light includes a flexible pole with a hollow interior for housing wires. The wires are connected to a watercraft at one end of the pole and to a light source at another end of the pole. The light source, which may be an LED light source, is covered by a globe that at least partially refracts light. When powered, the stern light produces light capable of providing visibility of the watercraft for at least two nautical miles while also avoiding the visual impairment of watercraft passengers. Pole flexibility allows operation of the stern light during watercraft motion and in areas with potential obstructions, such as low-hanging branches.
