Burner system for a cooking appliance, and method for operating a burner system for a cooking appliance
A burner system for a cooking device has at least one burner surface wherein the at least one burner surface is designed in such a way that the burner system has a low minimum power density with homogeneous temperature distribution at the same time. In a first aspect, the burner system includes a fuel supply and a first burner surface for burning the fuel that is provided downstream of the fuel supply. The burner system includes a second burner surface for afterburning that is separate from the first burner surface and is provided downstream from the first burner surface. Moreover, a method for operating the burner system is shown.
Two-stage combustor
A two-stage combustor having as constituent parts: a partial oxidation reactor, which catalytically converts a hydrocarbon fuel and a first supply of oxidant into a gaseous partial oxidation product; and a deep oxidation reactor having a premixer plenum fluidly connected to a porous heat spreader, which converts the gaseous partial oxidation product to deep oxidation products. In one embodiment, the premixer plenum provides an empty space wherein combustion occurs in flame mode. In a second embodiment, the premixer plenum contains a high pore density foam matrix, absent catalyst, which facilitates holding a flameless combustion downstream within the porous heat spreader. In both embodiments heat produced during combustion is transmitted from the heat spreader to an associated heat acceptor, such as a heater head of a Stirling engine.
Coal nozzle with a flow constriction
The invention concerns a pulverized solid fuel, in particular coal, nozzle (10) comprising an inlet opening (12) for receiving a stream of coal/air mixture (16) and an outlet opening (14) for discharging said stream (16) into a burner. The inlet opening (12) and the outlet opening (14) are fluidically connected by a flow section (18), and a flow cross section (20) of the flow section (18) varies along a flow direction (22) of the stream of coal/air mixture (16). The flow section (18) comprises a flow constriction (24) with a, preferentially globally, minimal flow cross section (26). The flow constriction (24) is fluidically located between the inlet opening (12) and the outlet opening (14) and the flow section (18) has a flow cross section (20) that, in particular continuously, increases from the flow constriction (24) to the outlet opening (14).

Regenerative oxidizer arrangement
Methods and systems for oxidizing gas are provided. An example regenerative oxidizer is provided that includes a combustion chamber to heat gas present in the combustion chamber. The regenerative oxidizer also includes a first heat exchange media bed and a second heat exchange media bed, each in fluid communication with the combustion chamber. The regenerative oxidizer also includes a rotary valve disposed at least partially between the first heat exchange media bed and the second heat exchange media bed. The rotary valve may alternate the flow of gas between a first and a second airflow direction. The first heat exchange media bed, the rotary valve, and the second heat exchange media bed are arranged with respect to each other such that the gas pathway between the first heat exchange media bed and the rotary valve and between the second heat exchange media bed and the rotary valve is non-linear.
