System for processing waste
The system for processing waste includes both a fixed bed reactor and a fluidized bed reactor. The fixed bed reactor receives a first waste material and produces a first set of reaction products. The fluidized bed reactor is adapted for receiving a second waste material and producing a second set of reaction products. The first and second sets of reaction products may be selectively and adjustably mixed to produce a mixed set of reaction products. At least one cyclone separator receives the reaction products and separates and collects solids (waxes) from the product stream. At least one condenser receives the product stream and removes a condensable liquids from the product stream. The condensable liquids are collected, and a gas-liquid separator removes any remaining liquid from the gas stream. The remaining gas is then output as gaseous product.
Method for operating a fluidized bed boiler
The invention relates to a method for operating a fluidized bed boiler, comprising carrying out the combustion process with a fluidized bed comprising ilmenite particles, wherein the average residence time of the ilmenite particles in the boiler is at least 75 hours. The invention further relates to ilmenite particles obtainable by a corresponding method and the use of said ilmenite particles as oxygen-carrying material.
SYSTEM AND PROCESS FOR RECYCLING FLUIDIZED BOILER BED MATERIAL
The invention relates to a system for recycling fluidized bed boiler bed material, comprising: a. a bottom ash removal device for removing bed material from a fluidized bed boiler, b. a mechanical classifier (10) comprising a mesh size from 200 to 1,000 m designed to separate a coarse and a fme particle size fraction, c. a magnetic separator (12) designed to magnetically classify the fine particle fraction from the mechanical classifier, d. a device for recirculating the magnetic particle fraction into the boiler. The invention allows effective recirculation and reuse of ilmenite bed material.
METHOD FOR OPERATING A FLUIDIZED BED BOILER
The invention relates to a method for operating a fluidized bed boiler (6), comprising the steps of: a) providing fresh ilmenite particles having a shape factor of 0.8 or lower as bed material to the fluidized bed boiler (6); b) carrying out a fluidized bed combustion process; c) removing at least one ash stream comprising ilmenite particles from the fluidized bed boiler; d) separating ilmenite particles from the at least one ash stream, wherein the separation includes a step of using a magnetic separator (12) comprising a field strength of 2,000 Gauss or more; e) recirculating separated ilmenite particles into the bed of the fluidized bed boiler; wherein the average residence time of ilmenite particles in the fluidized bed is 100 h or more.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CONTROLLING BED AGGLOMERATION IN FLUIDIZED-BED BOILERS
The present disclosure relates to fluidized-bed boilers and methods for controlling bed agglomeration that can occur when biomass containing high amounts of phosphorus is used as fuel. Iron-containing compounds, such as iron oxide, are added to the fluidized bed to tie up the phosphorus in a form that will not react under typical operating conditions for fluidized-bed boilers.
Device and method for chemical looping combustion, having a particle separator provided with an inclined intake duct
The present invention relates to a device and a method for chemical looping combustion, for which the end of the intake duct (4) opening out within the chamber of the separator (1) is inclined with respect to a horizontal plane (H).
CLC METHOD AND PLANT WITH RECOVERY OF GASEOUS OXYGEN PRODUCED BY AN OXYGEN CARRIER
The present invention concerns a CLC method and plant for a hydrocarbon feedstock, comprising combustion of said hydrocarbon feedstock (8) on contact with an oxygen carrier in form of particles in a reduction zone (R0), and oxidation of the oxygen carrier from reduction zone (R0) on contact with an oxidizing gas, preferably air, in an oxidation zone. According to the invention, gaseous oxygen is released by the oxygen carrier in a sealing device (S1) operating in a dual fluidized bed and positioned in the path of said carrier from the oxidation zone to the combustion zone, and it is mixed with part of the combustion fumes intended to be recycled to the reduction zone. The gaseous oxygen then enables combustion of the residual unburned species that may be contained in the combustion fumes and/or it participates in the combustion of the hydrocarbon feedstock in the reduction zone.
CONTROL METHOD FOR THE OPERATION OF A COMBUSTION BOILER
The invention is in the field of boiler control and relates to a control method for the operation of a combustion boiler, comprising providing a predetermined upper limit (VF,max) for the flue gas velocity in at least one location of the boiler, monitoring the flue gas velocity (VF) during the combustion of fuel in said at least one location of the boiler, comparing the flue gas velocity (VF) with the predetermined upper limit (VF,max); decreasing the thermal load of the boiler if the flue gas velocity exceeds the predetermined upper limit (VF,max). The invention also relates to a control system configured to execute the control method.
