Audio signal driven analog flame display

A “flame show” is responsive to an audio input signal such as music. A base unit including an analog base unit controller circuit is arranged to receive an audio input signal and generate an analog control signal that is responsive to the audio input signal. The analog control signal is distributed, by wire or wireless, to one or more flame display units such as a “tiki torch.” Each flame display unit has a fuel source, and a proportional valve for controlling an amount of fuel supplied to a burner. Preferably, the control signal controls a gate terminal of a MOSFET semiconductor device, which in turn is coupled to control current in the proportional valve each each unit. By deploying multiple flame display units, all coupled to the same base unit, all of the flame display units contribute synchronously to the overall flame show.

FLEXIBLE TORCH TOOL AND METHOD

A method for delivering a High-Pressure gas mixture to a High-Temperature torch nozzle. The method includes several steps. A first steps is providing a plurality of gases to a gas mixing chamber. Then there is mixing turbulently the plurality of gases in the gas mixing chamber to form a High-Pressure gas mixture. Next is directing the High-Pressure gas mixture into a flexible gooseneck hose, and then flowing the High-Pressure gas mixture through the flexible gooseneck hose. A further step is delivering the High-Pressure gas mixture to the High-Temperature torch nozzle. And then, there is dispensing the High-Pressure gas mixture out of the High-Temperature torch nozzle at a temperature of between about 3000 degrees Fahrenheit to 6500 degrees Fahrenheit.

Blowtorch having continuous-flame mode

A blowtorch includes a casing and a control unit. The control unit includes an activate button and a lock button. The lock button is switchable between a first lock position and an intermediate position, or between the intermediate position and a second lock position. The activate button is switchable between a standby position and an activation position when the lock button is in the intermediate position. The lock button contacts the activate button and restricts the activate button to hold in the activation position when the activate button is in the activation position and the lock button is in the first lock position or the second lock position.

Various embodiments utilize a novel approach to igniting the natural gas flame that is emitted from the end of the torch. According to one embodiment a rotary diverter within the ignition bell of the GrillGun is used to shunt a portion of the higher velocity gas flow to an area in the bell where the ignition spark is out of the direct burning gas stream. According to another embodiment the ignition bell has a plate that largely covers its open end that reduces the length of the flame that is emitted and focuses it. Still another embodiment has a check valve that operates to stop the flow of gas to the gas conduit when the GrillGun is dropped or tipped over or liquid propane is otherwise presented into the check valve by any other means.

TORCH BASE INCLUDING INTEGRATED TEMPERATURE MEASUREMENT AND CONTROL CAPABILITIES
20220107225 · 2022-04-07 ·

A torch base is disclosed that is configured to receive and support a (hand-held) torch (e.g., a butane torch) during a variety of activities. The torch base includes: a body; a temperature reader (gauge); and a control unit. The body is configured for releasable connection to a torch and includes a receptacle defining a chamber that is configured to removably receive the torch such that the torch is repeatably connectable to and disconnectable from the body (e.g., via insertion into and removal from the receptacle). The temperature reader (gauge) is connected to the body and is configured to measure a surface temperature (of the article being heated by the torch). The control unit is supported by the body and is in communication with the temperature reader. The control unit is configured to display the surface temperature measured by the temperature reader, which provides a safeguard against overheating of the article.

Torch Heat Shield
20220065443 · 2022-03-03 ·

A torch heat shield attachment for a butane torch or similar device includes an outer mesh material that is wrapper around an inner aluminum cylinder. The outer mesh material forms an outer mesh cylinder spaced around an inner mesh cylinder via a plurality of fasteners that secure the mesh in its cylindrical shape while spacing the formed inner and outer mesh cylinders to form a gap therebetween. The fasteners are removable and rearrangeable to customize the appearance of the torch heat shield. The aluminum plate, the two mesh cylinders formed by the mesh material, and the gap formed between the two mesh cylinders help to shield a user of the torch from excess heat by dissipating the heat from the torch tip.
