CONTROL SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR COOKTOP APPLIANCES
Cooktop appliances are provided. A cooktop appliance can include a gas burner; a manifold having a gas input; a primary line extending between the manifold and the gas burner, wherein the primary line operates as a non-modulated minimum gas flow line when the cooktop appliance is in an automatic mode; a secondary line extending between the manifold and the gas burner, wherein a gas flow rate of the secondary line is controllable by a flow control valve; a primary valve in fluid communication with at least the primary line; and a control system including: a sensor configured to detect a temperature corresponding to the gas burner; and a controller regulating: (i) the flow control valve in response to the detected temperature to achieve a desired temperature, and (ii) the primary valve when the flow control valve is closed and the detected temperature exceeds the desired temperature.
Gas safety shutoff
A system for igniting a grill can include a solenoid valve, a flame rectification sensor, an igniter, and a control circuit connected to the solenoid valve and the flame rectification sensor. The solenoid valve controls flow of gas to the grill's burner and includes a switch that closes when a handle connected to the switch opens the solenoid valve. The control circuit sends current to the solenoid valve when the switch is closed to hold the solenoid valve open. After the switch closes, the igniter is ignited. After ignition, the control circuit monitors the presence of a flame with a flame rectification sensor. If no flame is detected after a certain amount of time, the control circuit stops sending current to the solenoid valve to close the solenoid valve.
Knob assembly for cook top
A knob assembly includes a front panel, a knob located at a front side of the front panel and configured to rotate based on operation by a user, a knob shaft that is coupled to the knob and that extends through the front panel, a supporting pipe that receives the knob shaft and that supports the knob shaft, the supporting pipe being configured to maintain a position relative to the front panel, a valve configured to control supply of gas to the appliance, a valve shaft connected to the valve and configured to control the valve to adjust a flow rate of gas based on rotation of the valve shaft, and a joint that couples the knob shaft to the valve shaft and that is configured to transfer at least one of a rotational motion or a linear motion of the knob shaft to the valve shaft.
Gas cooking appliance with active igniter indicator
A cooking appliance and method generate an audible and/or visual indication to a user while an igniter is activated during ignition of a gas burner to notify the user that the igniter is active.
Gas cooking appliance with gas burner state indications
A cooking appliance and method may generate one or more audible and/or visual indications to a user of various gas burner states during the operation of a gas burner, including, for example, states that are associated with different types of ignition operations, such as initial ignition operations, programmed re-ignition operations and/or flame loss re-ignition operations and/or states that are associated with ignition operations, normal operating conditions, and/or failure conditions.
DC RE-IGNITION SYSTEM FOR A GAS BURNER
The invention relates to a re-ignition system for a gas device comprising an electrode element (1) provided next to a burner (2); an igniter (60) in communication with the electrode element (1) for transmitting electrical signal and providing a spark arc with high voltage towards burner (2) in electrode element (1) in ignition mode; and an ignition control unit (30). Re-ignition system further comprises at least one battery (10); a flame detection unit (50) receiving a flame presence signal (3) by flame rectification and a transformer (20) which converts the direct current supplied through the battery (10) from one inlet (22) to alternating current at an outlet (24) and is connected with the ignition control unit (30) and flame detection unit (50) to provide electrical signal.
Collapsible camp stove
A collapsible camp stove having a cover, a chassis having a fuel burner and a pot support; and the pot support and the chassis and the cover are all pivotally interconnected to one another in a parallelogram structure wherein pivotal opening of the cover relative to the chassis causes the pot support to raise upwardly away from a top surface of the chassis while the pot support continuously remains parallel to the top surface of the chassis.
Gas cooking appliance with ignition position indicator
A cooking appliance and method generate an audible and/or visual indication to a user when a user control for a gas burner is in a position within which an igniter is active and a gas valve is supplying sufficient gas flow to the gas burner to support ignition and thereby assist a user in properly positioning the user control during ignition of the burner.
SELF-ADJUSTING BURNER IGNITER FOR GAS COOKTOPS
A burner assembly for a domestic gas cooktop includes a lower burner mounting structure positioned on a first side of the top sheet; a burner body configured to be positioned on an opposite side of the top sheet, the burner body having an igniter positioning surface; an igniter having an igniter end, and a stop integrally formed in the igniter, the stop having an upper ledge; and an urging member that pushes against the lower burner mounting structure, and urges the igniter in a direction away from the lower burner mounting structure and toward the igniter positioning surface such that the upper ledge of the stop is urged into contact with the igniter positioning surface when the burner assembly is in an assembled condition. The igniter is held in an operating position by the burner body and the urging member when the burner assembly is in use.
Home cooking appliance with an electrode chamber
A home cooking appliance having an electrode chamber for a burner assembly is provided. The home cooking appliance includes a burner rail, maintop surface, burner assembly including a burner electrode, igniter box below the burner rail and maintop surface, and an electrode chamber on the burner rail. The electrode chamber includes a body having a cavity and a first opening at a first end of the body, wherein a portion of the burner electrode is disposed in the cavity, an electrical contact surface in the cavity that engages and electrically connects the electrical contact surface to the portion of the burner electrode, and an electrical connector at a second end of the body, the electrical connector being electrically connected to the electrical contact surface and to the igniter box, thereby electrically connecting the igniter box to the portion of the burner electrode.
