An electric fireplace (10) includes a fireplace housing (12) and an electrical insert (40). The fireplace housing (12) includes a base panel (30) having a base opening (230A), a back panel (32), and at least one side panel (34). The electrical insert (40) is sized and shaped to fit and be supported and retained within the base opening (230A). Additionally, the electrical insert (40) can include a heater (26), and a controller (28) including a processor that is configured to control operation of the electric fireplace (10). Further, each of the base panel (30), the back panel (32) and the at least one side panel (34) can be manufactured and installed independently of one another. The fireplace housing (12) can further include a front frame (236) that is manufactured and installed independently of each of the base panel (30), the back panel (32) and the at least one side panel (34). Still further, at least one of the back panel (32) and the at least one side panel (34) can be foldable.

An electric fire apparatus (10)is provided, having an improved simulated fire effect. The electric fire apparatus (10)comprising a bed base (14a)which is at least in part light-transmissible. The electric fire apparatus (10)also has a holographic mesh element (18)as herein before defined which divides the bed base (14a)into a front bed base portion (42a)and a rear bed base portion (42b). At least one light source (50)is provided for directing light through the front and/or rear bed base portions(42a,42b).

A simulating flame humidifier includes a main engine, an upper shell detachably connected to the main engine, and an emitting-light assembly; the main engine is provided with a spray chamber, a bottom surface of the spray chamber is provided with an atomizer, the upper shell is provided with a spraying port communicated with the spray chamber; the emitting-light assembly is arranged in said spray chamber and aligned with the spraying port; the emitting-light, assembly is used for generating a light with flame color and illuminating said water mist from the spray port; the bottom surface of the spray chamber extends upwardly to form a chamber aligned to the spraying port, a top portion of the chamber is made of transparent material, the emitting-light assembly is arranged in the top portion of the chamber.

A lighting system for an electric fireplace, and a fireplace assembly including such system, may include a plurality of logs arranged in different orientations and in different rows. Some of the logs may include a substantially planar surface facing forwards. A front projector may project a lighting effect onto the logs, including the substantially planar surfaces, and a rear projector may project a lighting effect onto a non-transparent screen positioned behind the plurality of logs. The lighting system desirably provides a realistic three-dimensional flame effect in conjunction with a log set having a natural, split-log appearance. Other features may be included to enhance the lighting system, including internal lights in the logs and in an ember bed, as well as coloration of the logs to enhance the lighting effects and the natural appearance of the logs.

Method and devices for simulating visual and audio effects of wood burning fireplace are provided. An electric fireplace includes artificial logs on a hearth area configured to simulate burning wood logs. The electric fireplace includes a mist generator to generate mist surrounding the artificial logs. At least one light engine supplies light beams to lighten the mist surrounding the artificial logs to simulate flickering fire that burns the artificial logs. The electric fireplace further includes a speaker for playing crackling wood burning sound.

A flame simulating assembly is provided with a reflected flickering light that includes only one light source. Light from the light source passes through a rotating flicker element onto one or more reflectors, or mirrors, that reflect light up onto a simulated fuel bed and the some of the light is reflected off of the flicker elements towards a flame screen to create a simulated flame. The dipping flicker elements creates a fluttering light effect due to the flicker elements “intermittently dipping” into the light path. This fluctuating light is reflected onto the logs and ember bed in front and creates a dancing effect, which simulates glowing embers.

A flame simulating assembly including a light source, a screen having a translucent region which subjects light from the light source transmitted therethrough to diffusion and a transparent region, and a flicker element for intermittently reflecting the light from the light source toward the screen, to provide images of flames in a predetermined portion thereof. The screen includes a fringe region positioned between the translucent region and the transparent region. The fringe region includes a number of diffusing areas for diffusing the light from the light source and a number of transparent areas positioned between the diffusing areas, to at least partially provide images of flames in the diffusing areas.

An electric fireplace insert assembly includes a fireplace insert, an ember bed module and a candelabra module. The ember bed module and the candelabra module are interchangeably installed within a firebox cavity defined within the front of the fireplace insert. The candelabra module may be separately operable from the fireplace insert, providing an additional decorative display. The electric fireplace insert may further include a projector module configured to project a simulated flame onto a rear wall of the fireplace cavity. The electric fireplace insert further includes a heat/blower unit to provide space heater functionality and a flame simulation assembly.

An electric fireplace (410) includes a fireplace housing (412) and a heater assembly (426) that is configured to generate heated air. The heater assembly (426) is configured to be installed substantially within the fireplace housing (412). The heater assembly (426) includes a heater body (445), a first grill cover (448) that is selectively couplable to the heater body (445), and a second grill cover (548) that is alternatively selectively couplable to the heater body (445). The first grill cover (448) has a first cover length (468), and the second grill cover (548) has a second cover length (568) that is different than the first cover length (468). The heater assembly (426) is selectively positionable within a cabinet (311) having a structural opening (311A), and a center shelf (360) that defines at least a portion of an upper side (311U) of the structural opening (311A). The heater assembly (426) is installed substantially adjacent to the center shelf (360).
