Method and apparatus for winterizing system components
An onboard system for winterizing vessels includes an antifreeze storage system. The onboard system includes a control system capable of determining one or more of the one or more system components to be winterized, an antifreeze storage system, and one or more pumps capable of pumping antifreeze from the antifreeze storage system. The antifreeze flows through the determined one or more system components to be winterized.
Method and device for reducing or eliminating the temperature drop of the supply air temperature during defrosting of an evaporator at an air handling unit
Method and device for reducing or eliminating a temperature drop of the supply air temperature during defrost operation, at an air handling unit (1) which is arranged with a heat pump (2) for recovering heat from an extract air stream (3) and transfer to a supply air stream (4). During defrosting of a first DX-coil (5), arranged in the extract air stream (3), by reversible operation of the heat pump (2), accumulated heat energy (E) is used for reduction or elimination of the temperature drop in the supply air temperature during the defrost operation, and which energy has been stored in an accumulator medium (7) which is at least partially in contact with the supply air flow (4). The stored energy (E) is delivered by heat exchange with the supply air stream (4) in a position after a second DX-coil (6) through a heating coil (8) arranged in the supply air stream (4).
Backup methods and systems for spa system thermal management
Spa systems may be used all year round and in colder weather provide an enjoyable experience for users through the cold ambient outdoor temperature and the heated water of the spa. However, failures in respect of the water circulating pump and/or heater of the spa system either mechanically, electrically or through overall power outages mean the water in the spa system and its pipework can easily freeze if ambient conditions are cold enough leading to cracks in the spa system or pipes and hence leaks when the water thaws requiring costly repair or replacement of components or entire systems. Accordingly, a freeze protection system is provided that uses a backup thermal management system discretely or in combination with other backup systems. These freeze protection systems offering backup when mechanical failures, electrical failures etc. arise by providing thermal input to the spa system through alternate thermal paths and providing alarms.
Outdoor enclosure for a circulating pump
The present invention describes a novel outdoor enclosure for circulating pumps for outdoor tankless heaters, outdoor boilers and other outdoor applications. The enclosure includes a body and a cover with the body attaching to the circulator motor. When closed, the enclosure keeps rainfall and other contaminates from entering the wiring space within the enclosure and the circulator motor. The body of the enclosure has multiple ports for electrical wiring inputs for power and for controls connections which can be made with flexible cords and/or hardwires. The outdoor enclosure can be equipped with a terminal strip to simplify wiring and/or with a timer to control when the circulator operates. To avoid problems associated with freezing, the enclosure may include a thermal device that turns the circulator on if temperatures drop. To secure the cover to the body, fastener tabs are included that can accept a screw or lock.
Heated condensate drainage tube
A passive heater for heating a drainage tube, the passive heater including: an elongated flexible thermal conductor including a first end and a second end, wherein the first end is configured to be disposed in contacting relationship with a heat source and at least a portion of the elongated flexible thermal conductor is configured to be disposed in contacting relationship with a portion of the drainage tube; and an eyelet disposed on the first end, the eyelet configured to facilitate the securement of the elongated flexible thermal conductor to the heat source, wherein the first end is configured to receive heat and transmit it along the elongated flexible thermal conductor to increase temperature of the portion of the drainage tube to prevent freezing of a fluid through the drainage tube.

Frost protection apparatus for water supply apparatus in recreational vehicles
Specified is a water supply apparatus, a mixing apparatus (1) being provided for mixing, in a mixing container (3), water conveyed in the mixing apparatus (1). Arranged relative to the mixing container (3) is a base apparatus (2) which has a base chamber (9) that is hydraulically connected to a water pipe (11, 12, 13) of the water supply apparatus and has an opening to the surroundings. A sealing device (10) is installed in the base chamber (9) for the purpose of closing off the opening of the base chamber (9) from the surroundings. The sealing device (10) has a weak point wall region (17) whose pressure strength is lower than the pressure strength of wall regions of all the other components of the water supply apparatus which, in the operating state, enclose cavities that can be filled with water, and which separate these cavities that can be filled with water from the surroundings.
SELF-REGULATING HEATED HOSE ASSEMBLY AND METHOD OF MAKING
A self-regulated heated hose member, an assembly of self-regulated heated hose members, and methods of making the same are disclosed herein, including an inner core tube, a self-regulating heating element disposed along the outer surface of the inner core tube along its axial length, and an outer sheath layer disposed over the inner core tube and the self-regulating heating element.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ENERGY-SAVING INDUCTIVE HEATING OF EVAPORATORS AND OTHER HEAT-EXCHANGERS
A novel method of deicing utilizing a fins-on-tubes type evaporator/heat exchanger system that is optimized for energy-saving inductive heating thereof, by configuring it to increase its resistance to a value at which the system's reactance at its working frequency is comparable to its electrical resistance. The system includes a set of tubes configured for flow of cooling material therethrough, and also includes a set of fins positioned and disposed perpendicular to, and along, the tubes, in such a way that at least a portion of the fins comprises longitudinal excisions therein.
