Radiant heater device

A radiant heater device for generating a radiant heat, includes a substrate portion having a plate shape and made of an electrically insulating material, a surface member having a sheet shape and disposed on one surface side of the substrate portion, and a heat generation portion formed on the other surface side of the substrate portion. The surface member is formed of a fiber fabric that is provided with a space portion recessed toward the substrate portion in a thickness direction of the surface member and that restricts a heat transfer in a surface direction of the surface member by the space portion.

A radiant heater includes a generally U-shaped radiative heating element having a first straight section, a second straight section, and an interconnecting U-shaped section. The non-connected end of the first straight section is arranged for communication with a burner and the non-connected end of the second straight section is arranged for communication with an extractor for extracting combustion gases from the tube. A redirecting element including opposed helical vanes, each executing a 180° turn about a central, common tube, is arranged within the first straight section so as to redirect, in use, at least a portion of the combusted gases flowing within the upper half of the tube towards the lower half, and gases flowing in the lower half towards the upper half.

An apparatus and method for producing heat and electricity including a burner to produce radiant heat. A thermal-to-electric conversion device is integrated with the burner and proximate to the radiant heat. The conversion device provides a first side disposed toward the radiant heat and a second side disposed toward a cooling fluid flow path, such as combustion air for the burner or a media to be heated by the burner.

The device may include an air receptacle having at least one air inlet and one air outlet, a chimney having a first end coupled to the at least one outlet of the air receptacle, and a second open end, and a heat exchanger positioned about a periphery of the chimney and having at least one air inlet and at least one air outlet. The device may also include a structure having at least one surface configured to provide heat to a user, where the structure has at least one air inlet coupled to the at least one air outlet of the heat exchanger, and at least one air outlet coupled to the at least one air inlet of the air receptacle. The device may be configured such that when a combustible material is placed in the device, the device heats air within the air receptacle and the heated air travels through the chimney, heating the air within the heat exchanger, circulating the air from the heat exchanger into the structure, and back into the air receptacle. The device may include a grate positioned adjacent the air receptacle, where the grate is configured to hold a combustible material.

Infrared agricultural heater

An infrared heater for use in an agricultural setting, particular for use in poultry houses, is provided that includes a burner assembly supported by an opposing pair of generally T-shaped end plates. The heater further includes a pair of emitter assemblies having a parabolic configuration that are each supported by an elongated emitter support. The emitter assemblies surround an inner core member assembly that in part define burn chambers. The heater includes a pair of end deflector members that together with the parabolic inner surfaces of the emitter assemblies direct infrared heat outwardly and downwardly in a wide and generally quadrilaterally shaped heat footprint.
