Model predictive control-based building climate controller incorporating humidity
Systems and methods are configured to control operation of an HVAC system providing climate control for a zone of a structure. In various embodiments, a constrained optimization problem is performed to set control commands for controlling operation of the HVAC system to achieve one or more objectives while providing a supply air flow at an air temperature and a humidity ratio for the zone at a future time. For instance, the optimization problem may include a cost function having constraints based on a desired temperature setpoint and a humidity ratio for the zone. A value is set for each control command based on the performance of the constrained optimization problem to achieve at least one of the objectives and as a result, the supply air flow at the air temperature and humidity ratio is provided by the HVAC system at the future time to the zone based on the values.
Air cleaner
An air cleaner disposed in an indoor space is disclosed. The air cleaner according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a blowing device including a suction port and a discharging port, a fan motor configured to cause air flow, a purification unit installed in the blowing device to clean air, a flow conversion configured to change a flow direction of air discharged from the discharging port, a communication unit configured to communicate with a moving agent moving in the indoor space, and a processor configured to receive feature information collected by the moving agent and associated with a structure of the indoor space, obtain a type of the indoor space by using the feature information, and control an operation of at least one of the fan motor and the flow conversion device by using the type of the indoor space to adjust at least one of an operation mode, a wind direction, and a wind volume.
OCCUPANCY SENSING AND BUILDING CONTROL USING MOBILE DEVICES
Apparatus, systems and methods for ascertaining the occupancy of a building are presented. The building is divided into one or more control zones which correspond to physical areas of the building associated with controllable modules, such as HVAC units, lighting, irrigation, or other environmental features such as fountains, music, video, and the like. Zone parameters define how zone devices shall react to the number of occupants located in the particular zone. A building control system detects individual mobile devices in and around the building, and determines the locations of each device by using trilateration and/or location services. The identified mobile devices act as proxies for building occupants. The locations of these devices are correlated with the locations of the zones in the building, and the building control system then adjusts the operating parameters of the zone based on the number of devices present in the zone.
Air purifier and control method therefor
An air cleaner includes: a housing including an inlet and an outlet for air; an air blower configured to blow air introduced through the inlet to the outlet; a panel configured to face the outlet and including holes; a driver configured to move the panel with respect to the housing; and a controller configured to control the driver to move the panel to open or close a channel between the outlet and the panel and adjust an air volume discharged through the holes of the panel. Thus, the air cleaner prevents a cold draft phenomenon.

Building management system with graphic user interface for component operational efficiency
A building management system includes a building efficiency improvement system and method configured to monitor and control subsystems and equipment for improved efficiency of operation. A user device is configured to display a user interface for monitoring and controlling one or more building equipment efficiency parameters and settings. The building efficiency management system further includes a controller configured to collect and analyze data from equipment, generate displays of the operational status and efficiency levels, generate sets of alternative equipment control algorithms based on efficiency objectives, and present users with a set of alternative equipment control algorithms displayed via graphic user interface elements on the user device. The user device further provides a means to select and implement an alternate equipment control algorithm. The controller is further configured to receive inputs from the user device commanding changes to equipment controls and process transactions associated with changes to equipment configuration.

Automatic changeover mode in an HVAC controller with reversible deadband enforcement
An HVAC controller is configured to automatically change between a HEAT mode and a COOL mode in accordance with a sensed temperature in the building structure, a HEAT temperature set point and a COOL temperature set point. The user is allowed to adjust the HEAT temperature set point and the COOL temperature set point, with the HVAC controller automatically adjusting one of the set points in response to the user making a change to the other of the other of the set points that violates a minimum deadband. If the user readjusts the user-adjusted set point in a way that no longer violates the minimum deadband, the HVAC controller will adjust the other set point back towards its previous setting.
Error correction for predictive schedules for a thermostat
A heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) control device is configured to record a plurality of actual occupancy statuses, to determine a plurality of corresponding predicted occupancy statuses, and to compare the plurality of predicted occupancy statuses to the plurality of actual occupancy statuses. The device is further configured to identify conflicting occupancy statuses based on the comparison. A conflicting occupancy status indicates a difference between an actual occupancy status and a corresponding predicted occupancy status. The device is further configured to identify timestamps corresponding with the conflicting occupancy statuses, to identify historical occupancy statuses corresponding with the identified timestamps, and to update the conflicting occupancy statuses in the predicted occupancy schedule with the historical occupancy statuses.
