20170363308 · 2017-12-21 ·

A convertible humidifier that includes a base portion that produces mist, a control panel that controls the production of the mist by the base portion, a reservoir, detachably connectable to the base portion, which holds water to be used by the base portion to produce the mist, and a nozzle configured to direct the mist. The reservoir includes a pass-through connection that allows the mist produced by the base portion to be directed to an opening on a top surface of the reservoir. The nozzle is detachably connected to the opening on the top surface in a first operation mode, and the nozzle is detachably connected to an extending portion, which is detachably connected to the opening on the top surface, in a second operation mode.

HVAC system

An HVAC system for a multi-unit building having a riser stack in flow communication with a single unit HVAC system. The single unit HVAC system has a first heat exchanger thermally connected to the riser stack, a second heat exchanger thermally connected to a fluid distribution system within the unit, and a closed loop fluid flow path extending between the first and second heat exchangers. The first heat exchanger exchanges heat between a riser stack fluid in the riser stack and the closed loop fluid in the closed loop fluid flow path and the second heat exchanger exchanges heat between the closed loop fluid and a distribution fluid of the fluid distribution system.

An indoor digital centralized controller system (DCCS) that is connected to a controller of an application system and accepts orders from the controller of the application system and controls at least one motor to work. The DCCS includes a power supply, a master control unit (MCU), a plurality of motor control modules, a programming port module, and an input interface. The power supply is configured to supply power for circuits. The MCU is connected to and communicates with the controller of the application system via the input interface. An outer computer is capable of rewriting control programs of the MCU via the programming port module. The MCU is connected to a motor via a motor control module. The motor includes a stator assembly, a rotor assembly, and a shell assembly. The stator assembly and the rotor assembly are coupled magnetically.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR RE-HEAT DEHUMIDIFICATION UTILIZING A VARIABLE SPEED COMPRESSOR SYSTEM
20170234564 · 2017-08-17 · ·

A heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system for regulating humidity of an enclosed space. The HVAC system includes an evaporator coil. A metering device is fluidly coupled to the evaporator coil. A variable-speed compressor is fluidly coupled to the condenser coil and the evaporator coil and a controller is operatively coupled to the variable-speed compressor. A humidity sensor is operatively coupled to the controller and exposed to the enclosed space. Responsive to a determination that the relative humidity of the enclosed space exceeds the maximum humidity threshold, the controller adjusts a speed of the variable-speed compressor to increase latent capacity of the HVAC system. Responsive to a determination that the relative humidity of the enclosed space falls below the minimum humidity threshold, the controller adjusts a speed of the variable-speed compressor to decrease latent capacity of the HVAC system.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DETECTING DEGRADATION OF A COMPONENT IN AN AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM
20170234561 · 2017-08-17 · ·

A method including: determining whether a cooling system is operating in a cooling mode, such that the cooling system is not operating in a reheat mode, a humidification mode or a dehumidification mode; determining whether the cooling system is operating in a compressor mode, such that the cooling system is not operating in a pump refrigerant economization mode; determining whether the cooling system is at steady-state; and if the cooling system is operating in the cooling mode and the compressor mode and is at steady-state, evaluating one or more rules to determine if a degradation symptom exists for the cooling system. The method further includes: subsequent to the evaluation, generating a degradation evaluation value to indicate whether the one or more rules are satisfied; and based on the degradation evaluation value, generating an alarm signal or performing a countermeasure.
