A network of wireless remote climate sensors in a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system permits the creation of personalized microclimates within an enclosed space. In addition to collecting temperature and humidity data, the wireless remote climate sensors can detect whether the enclosed space is occupied by a human. Human detection is made possible by optional cameras, microphones, and gas sensors on the wireless remote climate sensors. As the human moves throughout the enclosed space, the HVAC system is able to track the human's movement using the wireless remote climate sensors. The HVAC system may adjust airflow to different portions of the enclosed space based on the human's location. The result is an efficient use of system resources to keep users at their ideal temperature.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AUTOMATIC DETECTION AND CLUSTERING OF VARIABLE AIR VOLUME UNITS IN A BUILDING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

System and methods for automatic detection and clustering of variable air volume units in a building management system are disclosed. In one aspect, a method includes receiving one or more of variable air volume unit (VAV) data and an air handling unit (AHU) data from one or more data sources, determining one or more VAVs as a suspect VAV based on the VAV data and the AHU data, and removing the suspect VAV to determine a duct static pressure setpoint for an AHU.

HVAC SYSTEM WITH VOLUME MODULATING VALVE

An HVAC system is described having components of a variable refrigerant flow (VRF) outdoor compressor unit connected to an indoor fan coil unit. The indoor fan coil unit supplies air to ducts that condition a plurality of zones. Each zone has a volume modulating air damper that can maintain a predetermined volume of air flowing through it. As the dampers for some zones vary between open and close positions, the air pressure in the ducts changes. The volume modulating dampers compensate for these pressure changes, ensuring that only the predetermine volume of air is passing into the zones. By regulating the volume of into each zone, the volume modulating air dampers can restrict the air volume through the fan coil causing the outdoor unit to reduce compressor speed, thereby saving energy.

THREE-PIPE MULTI-SPLIT AIR-CONDITIONING SYSTEM AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF

A three-pipe, multi-split system and a control method thereof. The three-pipe multi-split system includes an outdoor unit, a multi-split indoor unit, and a hydraulic module. By optimizing a refrigerant system, the phenomenon that a refrigerant is throttled before flowing through a refrigerant heat dissipation module or supercooled when passing through a plate heat exchanger which causes a relatively low temperature of the refrigerant entering the refrigerant heat dissipation module and consequent condensation on the refrigerant heat dissipation module to produce condensate water and then causes a damage to a compressor frequency conversion module can be avoided. In addition, more refrigerant is caused to flow through the refrigerant heat dissipation module to reduce the temperature of the module.

Air-conditioning system and air-conditioning system controller

This air-conditioning system includes an air conditioner: a room temperature sensor; an air-conditioning room temperature sensor; and a system controller. In the system controller, a room target temperature obtainer obtains a plurality of room target temperatures. Moreover, a ventilation airflow determiner determines the ventilation airflow of each of the delivery fans on the basis of the room target temperature, the temperature in the corresponding room, and the temperature in the air-conditioning room, and a fan airflow controller controls the ventilation airflow of each of the delivery fans according to the ventilation airflow determined by the ventilation airflow determiner.

Integrated space conditioning and water heating/cooling systems and methods thereto

The disclosed technology includes a variable refrigerant flow (VRF) conditioning system including a single outdoor unit and a VRF path extending between the single outdoor unit and a plurality of terminals. The plurality of terminals can include a first terminal configured to condition air of an interior room and a second terminal configured to heat or cool a liquid. The VRF system can provide heating or cooling of air in different rooms or zones within a building or home while also providing heating or cooling of water. In response to a demand for heating or cooling at each terminal, the VRF system can vary the supply of refrigerant to each terminal, such that efficient and precise temperature regulation of air and liquid can be provided.

TERMINAL UNIT AND METHOD FOR IMPROVED INDOOR COOLING

A terminal unit is provided for cooling a conditioned space. The terminal unit is provided conditioned air and augments cooling with a local heat exchanger. The terminal unit controls the flow of coolant through the heat exchanger. Latent cooling provided by the conditioned air is augmented by allowing moisture accumulation on the heat exchanger. The terminal unit lacks a drainage system so deleterious moisture accumulation (e.g., dripping) is avoided by monitoring moisture accumulation and controlling the terminal unit accordingly. If the moisture accumulation is below a threshold, the terminal unit is permitted to provide latent cooling locally. If the moisture accumulation is above a threshold, the terminal unit prevents further local latent cooling. Some sensor configurations allow for calculation of air flow rates, the latent cooling rate, and moisture accumulation. This information is used to achieve the desired room conditions more rapidly and precisely.
