Systems and methods for heat rise compensation

A HVAC controller includes a housing and one or more heat-generating components contained within the housing. The heat-generating components cause a temperature inside the housing to exceed a temperature outside the housing. The controller includes a temperature sensor configured to measure the temperature inside the housing and a controller event detector configured to detect, for at least one of the heat-generating components, a controller event that generates heat inside the housing. The controller further includes a temperature compensation module configured to identify a steady-state temperature gain associated with the detected controller event, to calculate a temperature offset using a summation of the steady-state temperature gain, to determine the temperature of the building zone outside the housing by subtracting the temperature offset from the temperature measured inside the housing, and to store the temperature offset.

Ventilation fan and ventilation system

A ventilation fan includes a body unit, which has a fan disposed in a body case and a fan controller operable to control an air volume of the fan. The ventilation fan also includes a sensor module having an indoor environment detecting sensor and a module controller operable to control a detecting operation of the indoor environment detecting sensor. The body unit has a module mount on which the sensor module is mounted and another sensor module can be mounted in place of the sensor module. The module mount is connected to the fan controller. The module controller outputs detection information obtained based on a detection result of the indoor environment detecting sensor to the fan controller, which in turn controls the air volume of the fan based on the detection information inputted thereto.

Environmental control equipment control apparatus for controlling target space

An environmental control equipment control apparatus controls an environment of a target space using a plurality of environmental control equipment. The control apparatus includes a receiver and an electronic controller. The receiver may receive state information relating to states of a plurality of subject persons. In this case, the electronic controller controls a plurality of kinds of environmental control equipment such that the state information of the plurality of subject persons received by the state information receiver satisfies a predetermined target state condition. The receiver may receive a second environmental stimulus given to a subject person other than a first environmental stimulus caused by control of the environmental control equipment. In this case, the electronic controller controls the environmental control equipment such that an influence of the second environmental stimulus received by the environmental stimulus receiver on the subject person is cancelled or reduced.

Configuration of a visible light sensor

A visible light sensor may be configured to sense environmental characteristics of a space using an image of the space. The visible light sensor may be controlled in one or more modes, including a daylight glare sensor mode, a daylighting sensor mode, a color sensor mode, and/or an occupancy/vacancy sensor mode. In the daylight glare sensor mode, the visible light sensor may be configured to decrease or eliminate glare within a space. In the daylighting sensor mode and the color sensor mode, the visible light sensor may be configured to provide a preferred amount of light and color temperature, respectively, within the space. In the occupancy/vacancy sensor mode, the visible light sensor may be configured to detect an occupancy/vacancy condition within the space and adjust one or more control devices according to the occupation or vacancy of the space. The visible light sensor may be configured to protect the privacy of users within the space via software, a removable module, and/or a special sensor.

Environmental sensors that measure environmental elements including at least airflow from among the airflow, temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, illuminance, and a degree of air pollution, which are the environmental elements in a factory where a machining operation is performed, a display unit that visualizes and displays measurement results of a plurality of environmental elements measured by the environmental sensors, an evaluation and determination unit that evaluates and determines at least one of machine accuracy, work environment, and image accuracy based on the measurement results of the plurality of environmental elements, and a control unit that controls in-factory equipment so that an environment in the factory becomes a preset environment based on results of evaluation and determination by the evaluation and determination unit are included.

SLEEP ONSET DETERMINATION METHOD, SLEEP ONSET DETERMINATION SYSTEM, AIR CONDITIONING DEVICE, AND RECORDING MEDIUM

A sleep onset determination method includes: detecting a light-out time that is a time at which illuminance in a room becomes less than or equal to a predetermined value; storing the light-out time detected in the detecting of the light-out time and a time period including the light-out time detected; and determining whether a user fell asleep at a currently detected light-out time, based on the light-out time and the time period stored in the storing of the light-out time.
