APPARATUS FOR HAIR COOLING AND DEHUMIDIFICATION

A hair cooling and dehumidification apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a wearable headgear/two-part fitness cap having an inner cavity for receiving a portion of a user's head. The wearable headgear comprises a top/outer insert and a bottom/inner insert. Both inserts comprise a plurality of offsets to maintain an air space gap between them. A pouch holder is provided to secure a desiccant pouch and attached to the top insert to absorb the water vapour from user's hair. The apparatus further comprises a thermo-electric cooling system having a thermoelectric cooler. A small heat sink is attached to a cold side of the thermoelectric cooler whereas a large heat sink is attached to a hot side. Further, a blower unit is attached to the small heat sink which is connected to the cold side of the thermoelectric cooling plate, to circulate the ambient air within the housing over the cold heat sink, to cool the incoming air circulating within the housing, thereby providing cooling and dehumidification of user's hair.

To perform dehumidifying control, the controller controls the opening degree of the first expansion valve and the second expansion valve to enable switching between cooling adsorption mode where the adsorption and desorption device adsorbs moisture in the indoor air and cooling desorption mode where the adsorption and desorption device desorbs the adsorbed moisture.

An improved HVAC system and method for simultaneously controlling the temperature and humidity of an indoor space while providing high quantities of outdoor air is described herein. The HVAC system of the present invention utilizes a heating source positioned in the supply passageway between an energy recovery wheel and a dehumidification wheel in order to control the temperature and humidity of air supplied to the indoor space while preventing frost build-up on the energy recover wheel. By positioning a heating source between the energy recovery wheel and a dehumidification wheel, the system is able to prevent frost accumulation on the energy recovery wheel during winter operation while also increasing the relative humidity of the supply air.

Modular humidity control and heat preservation system

A modular humidity control system is provided. An example system includes a body configured for attachment with a food storage housing. The body may define a closed circuit air flow path for circulating air through the food storage housing. The system also includes a desiccant element secured within the closed circuit air flow path that removes moisture from the moisture-laden air passing through the closed circuit air flow path, and stores the removed moisture. The system further includes a regeneration system that monitors a saturation of the desiccant element. In an instance in which the saturation of the desiccant element exceeds a saturation threshold, the regeneration system may evaporate at least a portion of the moisture stored by the desiccant element.

In addition, the humidity conditioning material includes: a humidity conditioning liquid containing a hygroscopic substance; and a holding portion holding the humidity conditioning liquid into a predetermined shape. The holding portion is formed of a polymeric material. The hygroscopic substance contains a hygroscopic metal salt. The humidity conditioning liquid contains a pH indicator, and changes in color in accordance with an amount of moisture contained in the humidity conditioning liquid.

Solid sorbents, and especially zeolites, are attractive candidates for CO.sub.2 direct air capture (DAC) and point source capture applications because of their potential for high selectivity, fast kinetics, and low energy CO.sub.2 capture cycles. A common issue with solid sorbents, including zeolites, is their low thermal conductivity, which makes them difficult to heat for regeneration without using complex and expensive heat transfer systems. This invention utilizes a modified TVSA process which utilizes the product CO.sub.2 gas itself as the heating medium for the adsorbent bed, alone or in conjunction with internal or external heaters. The use of CO.sub.2 as a heating medium allows efficient heating of the sorbent bed and enables high purity CO.sub.2 product.

A desiccant member is disclosed that comprises a polymer material and a bentonite material. The desiccant member is capable of absorbing moisture from an atmosphere containing siloxanes, organic compounds having a boiling point greater than 60 C, or mixtures thereof. The desiccant member is contamination resistant and may be regenerable. The desiccant member may have a high working moisture capacity that is suited for demanding environments.

The cartridge also includes a cover coupled to the tray over the first pocket such that the first pocket is in fluid communication with the second pocket via the channel. The cover has a first layer and a second layer detachable from the first layer. The first layer is gas permeable and liquid impermeable. The second layer is gas impermeable and liquid impermeable. The cartridge further includes a desiccant material contained in the first pocket by the cover.
