Radiant boiler for pressurized oxy-combustion and method of radiant trapping to control heat flux in high temperature particle-laden flows at elevated pressure
A boiler has a shell surrounding a vertical centerline. The shell defines an inner surface having an inner diameter and an inner length extending between an upper upstream end and a lower downstream end. The inner surface defines a hollow interior, the boiler having a pre-combustion zone, a combustion zone downstream from the pre-combustion zone, and a post-combustion zone downstream from the combustion zone. The shell is tapered outward along its length in at least a portion of the combustion zone. An oxidizer inlet is in fluid communication with the pre-combustion zone, and a fuel nozzle introduces fuel into the combustion zone. A tube assembly is mounted in the hollow interior of the shell for transferring heat to fluid flowing through the tube assembly. A flue duct is in fluid communication with the post-combustion zone for transporting flue gases from the hollow interior.
Rotary Cascading Bed Combustion System
A rotary cascading bed combustion system for converting waste product into energy includes a rotary cascading bed combustor boiler including a rotating cylinder surrounding a combustion chamber; the rotating cylinder being structured and disposed for cascading the fuel to facilitate the mixing of air and solids, wherein the rotational speed of the rotating cylinder is selectively varied based on the amount of fuel, airflow and combustion properties; wherein combusting waste is mixed with sorbents and cycled through a plurality of combustion zones to produce controlled heat for generating steam; wherein the steam is routed to a turbine; and wherein if carbon burnout is not complete it will be recycled back into the combustion chamber.
Heating Device Using Wood Fuel
The utility model relates to thermal power engineering, particularly to heating devices in which wood fuel undergoes high-temperature gasification (pyrolysis). The problem which the claimed utility model addresses is that of the consistent and environmentally clean combustion of wood fuel possessing a natural (that is, high) moisture content. The technical result is achieved in that the device includes a vertically-oriented additional gas duct through which the moisture contained in the fuel is removed in the form of of steam from the upper part of a fuel hopper to a flame in an afterburn chamber, wherein carbon monoxide mixed with steam is burned off and does not enter the atmosphere.
Boiler with access to heat exchangers
A boiler that includes a housing is disclosed. The housing houses a combustion chamber, a heat exchanger system, a heat flow path, an isolating member, and a movable access panel. The heat flow path thermally couples the combustion chamber and the heat exchanger system. The isolating member at least partially separates the combustion chamber from the heat exchanger system. A fluid jacket is operable to thermally couple fluid disposable within the fluid jacket about a fluid side area of heat exchangers of the heat exchanger system. The movable access panel is positioned about or coupled to an exterior wall of the housing. When the movable access panel is moved to an open position, a user is provided access to a gas side area of the heat exchangers for servicing or cleaning of the heat exchangers from an exterior environment of the boiler.
Water System for Outdoor Grill
A self-contained, gravity-fed, water system for providing hot and cold running water for use in outdoor or remote settings is disclosed. The system includes an elevated water storage unit, a grill or smoker unit, a sink station, a waste water storage unit and piping all attached and secured to a transportable platform. Water pressurization is provided by the elevated storage unit and the grill or smoker provides the source of heat for generating hot water within the system.
FLOATING FIRE PIT
Disclosed herein are components of a floating fire pit and methods of use of the floating fire pit to heat a volume of water. Specifically, embodiments of the floating fire pit include one or more tubular members, a base surface, and one or more sidewalls connecting the base surface to the one or more tubular members. The one or more tubular members enclose one or more volumes of air, and the floating fire pit has a buoyancy sufficient to float in the volume of water such that at least a portion of the one or more tubular member is above a surface of the volume of water and the base surface is below the surface of the volume of water.
