Adsorption system
An adsorption system can be used as part of a climate control system in a vehicle or in any other space requiring heating or cooling. The adsorbent system can include an enclosure, a plurality of layers arranged in a stack inside the enclosure, and a vapor channel inside the enclosure.
CHEMICAL HEAT PUMP
A chemical heat pump includes a reaction section containing a heat storage material, a condensing section enabling a phase transition between water vapor and water, a connecting section connecting the reaction section and the condensing section, a valve adapted to open or close the connecting section, and a first fluid passage. The reaction section contains a plurality of heat storage materials having respective different conversion temperatures at which the heat storage material and the hydrate thereof are converted into each other. The plurality of heat storage materials and the first fluid passage are arranged so that the fluid flowing in the first fluid passage can perform heat exchanges with the heat storage materials in such a manner that the higher the conversion temperature of the heat storage material, the closer the position of the heat exchange to “the first side” of the first fluid passage.
Device and method for the continuous thermochemical production of cold
A system and a thermochemical method for the production of cold, that uses a reactive device having a reactor or a chamber for storing a reactive product that can absorb a gas. The reactive product and the gas are such that, when they are exposed to one another, they undergo a reaction resulting in absorption of the gas by the reactive product and, conversely, they undergo a reaction involving the desorption of the gas absorbed by the reactive product as a result of heat applied to the reactive product when it absorbed the gas. The system has two substantially identical reactive devices wherein when the reactor of one reactive device is operating in the absorption cycle, the reactor of the other is operating in the desorption cycle. The system has a mechanism for determining the progress rate of the thermochemical reaction.
Adsorption cooling systems and methods
Technologies are described herein for cooling systems. In some aspects, a cooling system is configured to enter into a storage configuration or a winterization configuration. In the winterization configuration, refrigerant used in the cooling system is stored in an adsorbent in an adsorbent chamber.
Cooling system
Technologies are described herein for cooling systems. In some aspects, a cooling system is configured to enter into a storage configuration or a wintenzation configuration. In the wintenzation configuration, refrigerant used in the cooling system is stored in an adsorbent in an adsorbent chamber.
Compressor-assisted thermal energy management system
Systems and methods for compressor-assisted sorption rate. A sorption system includes a sorber that absorbs and desorbs a refrigerant gas, such as ammonia, onto and from a coordinative complex compound. The system includes an evaporator, a condenser, and a compressor. The temperature and pressure of the gas within the sorber are monitored and the compressor is controlled to adjust the pressure to increase the absorption and desorption rates and increase the thermal cycle speed of the sorption system for applications such as laser systems requiring rapid, periodic cooling.
ADSORPTION COOLING SYSTEM USING CARBON AEROGEL
A method includes forming a carbon aerogel on a substrate to produce a highly adsorptive structure. The carbon aerogel is characterized by having physical characteristics of in-situ formation on the substrate.
Adsorption cooling system using metal organic frameworks
A highly adsorptive structure includes: a substrate; and a metal-organic framework (MOF) comprising a plurality of metal atoms coordinated to a plurality of organic spacer molecules; wherein the MOF is coupled to at least one surface of the substrate, wherein the MOF is configured to adsorb and desorb a refrigerant under predetermined thermodynamic conditions. The refrigerant includes one or more materials selected from the group consisting of: acid halides, alcohols, aldehydes, amines, chlorofluorocarbons, esters, ethers, fluorocarbons, perfluorocarbons, halocarbons, halogenated aldehydes, halogenated amines, halogenated hydrocarbons, halomethanes, hydrocarbons, hydrochlorofluorocarbons, hydrofluoroethers, hydrofluoroolefins, inorganic gases, ketones, nitrocarbon compounds, noble gases, organochlorine compounds, organofluorine compounds, organophosphorous compounds, organosilicon compounds, oxide gases, refrigerant blends and thiols.
Refrigeration apparatus based on molecular sieve
A refrigeration apparatus based on a molecular sieve, including a first molecular sieve device, a second molecular sieve device, a reversing valve, and a balancing valve, wherein an air flow alternately passes through the first molecular sieve device and the second molecular sieve device through the reversing valve, and then flows back through the balancing valve, so that the first molecular sieve device and the second molecular sieve device are regenerated. The first molecular sieve device and the second molecular sieve device are capable of separating a refrigerant from a depressurization gas, and the refrigerant is condensed after reaching a certain concentration to become a liquid refrigerant, and then enters an evaporator again for refrigeration.
Adsorption heat pump and method for operating an adsorption heat pump
The invention relates to an adsorption heat pump, having an adsorber device, comprising a solid adsorbent, an evaporator, a condenser or an evaporator/condenser and an operating medium in an operating circuit, wherein the operating circuit has a gaseous half-circuit between the evaporator, the adsorber device and the condenser or the evaporator/condenser and the adsorber device, in which gaseous half-circuit the operating medium is gaseous, and a liquid half-circuit which is configured between the evaporator and the condenser and in which the operating medium is liquid, wherein the liquid half-circuit contains a liquid functional medium which can be mixed with the operating medium and lowers the vapor pressure of the operating medium, with a vapor pressure at 25° C. of below 0.2 mbar. In a method for operating an absorption heat pump with an operating circuit comprising an adsorber, an evaporator and a condenser or an evaporator/condenser and an operating medium which is circulated between the adsorber, the evaporator and the condenser, the operating medium is mixed, when running through the operating circuit, within the liquid half-circuit with a liquid functional medium which lowers the vapor pressure, and the operating medium is separated from the functional medium before the transfer into the gaseous half-circuit of the operating circuit.
