Utilizing wet fracturing sand for hydraulic fracturing operations
A system and a method that utilizes wet proppants when creating fracturing fluid by receiving wet fracturing sand at a surge tank, vibrating the wet fracturing sand located within the surge tank, liquefying the wet fracturing sand within the surge tank based on the vibration, and metering the liquefied wet fracturing sand from the surge tank to a blending tub.
Chilled water system efficiency improvement
Method for improving efficiency of a chilled water system having a chiller unit, circulation pumps, a heat absorption unit and a heat rejection unit, including adjusting a temperature of at least one of a chilled water supply to the heat absorption unit and a condenser water supply from the heat rejection unit; measuring efficiency of the chiller unit and at least one of the circulation pumps, the heat absorption unit and the heat rejection unit; further adjusting temperature of at least one of the chilled water supply to the heat absorption unit and the condenser water supply from the heat rejection unit if the measuring the efficiency indicates an improved efficiency; and further adjusting the temperature of the at least one of the chilled water supply to the heat absorption unit and the condenser water supply from the heat rejection unit if measuring the efficiency indicates worsened efficiency.
LOW CHARGE PACKAGED AMMONIA REFRIGERATION SYSTEM WITH EVAPORATIVE CONDENSER
A packaged, pumped liquid, evaporative-condensing recirculating ammonia refrigeration system with charges of 10 lbs or less of refrigerant per ton of refrigeration capacity. The compressor and related components are situated inside the plenum of a standard evaporative condenser unit, and the evaporator is close coupled to the evaporative condenser. Single or dual phase cyclonic separators may also be housed in the plenum of the evaporative condenser.

TEMPERATURE-ADJUSTING FLUID SUPPLY APPARATUS
Provided is a temperature-adjusting fluid supply apparatus that causes a fluid for temperature adjustment to be circulated between a heat exchanger that transfers heat supplied from a refrigerant to the fluid, and an object to be adjusted for temperature that uses the heat of the fluid, the temperature-adjusting fluid supply apparatus being able to prevent the fluid from freezing. A temperature-adjusting fluid supply apparatus is provided with a heat exchanger that transfers heat supplied from a refrigerant to a fluid for temperature adjustment, a supply tube through which the fluid flows from the heat exchanger toward an object to be adjusted for temperature, a return tube through which the fluid returning from the object to be adjusted for temperature flows, a flow rate adjustable pump, a flow sensor, a flow switch, a temperature sensor, and a control part. The flow switch, in comparison with the flow sensor, is able to detect flow rate changes with coarser precision, and is less affected in detection accuracy by viscosity changes in the fluid. On the basis of the temperature of the fluid detected by the temperature sensor, the control part switches between pump control based on the detection results of the flow sensor and pump control based on the detection results of the flow switch.
Method and Apparatus for Monitoring Refrigeration-Cycle Systems
A monitoring system for a heating, ventilation, or air conditioning (HVAC) system of a residential or commercial building includes an evaporator unit device and four temperature sensors. The evaporator unit device includes an electrical sensor that measures current supplied to a circulator blower of the HVAC system. The measured current from the first electrical sensor is used to diagnose a problem with the circulator blower. The first temperature sensor that measures a temperature of refrigerant flowing between a condenser of the HVAC system and an expansion valve of the HVAC system. The second temperature sensor measures a temperature of refrigerant flowing between an evaporator and a compressor. The third temperature sensor measures a temperature of air flowing away from the evaporator. The fourth temperature sensor measures a temperature of air flowing toward the evaporator. The evaporator unit device transmits sensor data to a remote monitoring service over a data network.
HEATING/COOLING SYSTEM FOR INDWELLING HEAT EXCHANGE CATHETER
A cooling system for an indwelling heat exchange catheter includes a heat exchange bath that is configured to receive a conduit that carries saline to and from the catheter. A heating/cooling fluid is in the bath and exchanges heat with the saline. The heating/cooling fluid flows through a heat exchanger that includes a refrigerant and two variable speed DC compressor for removing heat from the refrigerant. A gear pump circulates the working fluid to and from the catheter and is removably engaged with a pump support platform.
