In a transport container for transporting temperature-sensitive transport goods, there is a chamber for receiving the transport goods and a shell enclosing the chamber. The shell has at least one first latent heat storage element wherein the heat storage element is arranged in a heat exchanging relationship with the chamber. The at least one first latent heat storage element includes a carrier material which is dimensionally stable at use temperature, and a phase change material distributed within the mass of the carrier material, so that the at least one first latent heat storage element is dimensionally stable in a temperature range both below and above the melting point of the phase change material. The at least one first latent heat storage element is designed as a casting part which surrounds the chamber in one piece, seen in cross section, at least over half the circumference.

TEMPERATURE CONTROLLED CONTAINER

A temperature controlled container comprising:

an inner housing member defining a cavity, wherein at least a portion of the inner housing member comprises phase change material for regulating a temperature inside the cavity within a predetermined temperature range;

an outer housing member configured to accommodate and thermally insulate the inner housing member; and a content holding unit configured to be removably accommodated inside the cavity of the inner housing member, wherein the content holding unit is configured to hold an object to be stored or transported.

Applications of liquid tank as fresh food evaporator

An appliance having a storage tank disposed on its back surface wherein the storage tank includes a front cover and a back cover that matingly engages the front cover to form a liquid tight seal with the front cover. The storage tank further includes a phase-changing material disposed within the storage tank and a heat exchanger containing refrigerant tubing which transfers cooling from refrigerant tubing to the phase-changing solution. The storage tank, when fully charged with cooling capacity, maintains the food storage compartment at a temperature of 45 F. or less for at least 8 hours without activating a compressor.

Multiple temperature storage assembly

A multiple temperature storage assembly includes a sleeve that has an opening therein for accessing an interior of the sleeve and to receive food items for storage. The sleeve is comprised of a thermally insulating material to retain the food items at a selected temperature. A door is hingedly coupled to the sleeve for opening and closing the opening. A disk is slidably positioned within the sleeve such that the disk defines an upper section of the sleeve and a lower section of the sleeve. The disk is comprised of a thermally insulating material to inhibit thermal communication between the upper and lower sections. Thus, each of the upper and lower sections can store a respective one of warm food items and cold food items. A tube is slidably coupled to the sleeve. The tube has a chamber therein that is fluidly discrete from the sleeve when the tube is slidably coupled to the sleeve for storing dry objects.

REFRIGERATOR

A refrigerator includes a cabinet, a first inner case that defines a freezing compartment, a second inner case that defines a refrigerating compartment, a thermal siphon unit that is configured to carry a working fluid for heat transfer and that has a closed loop shape that includes a first part arranged at an outer side of the first inner case and a second part arranged at an outer side of the second inner case, and a cool air storage unit arranged in a space partitioned in the first inner case. The cool air storage unit is configured to accommodate cool air of the freezing compartment and transfer the cool air to the first part of the thermal siphon unit arranged outside of the first inner case.

Methods and apparatuses for using dry ice containers

Methods and apparatuses for loading, removing, accessing, positioning or preserving one or more items in a presence of dry ice are provided. The apparatus includes a tapered container that has a barrier-like structure which can partition the inner volume of the tapered container into an internal product storage volume and a dry icechamber. Each of the regions remain substantially undisturbed during handling, operation, use and transport of the tapered container. Methods for selectively introducing dry ice into the dry ice chamber of the tapered container and engaging the barrier-like structure within the tapered container can be achieved with a novel guiding assembly apparatus. The methods and apparatuses are particularly useful when loading and retrieving one or more items in the presence of dry ice for tapered containers that have single restrictive access openings and/or other characteristics which make access and handling difficult.

Freezable insulated crate liner

A device and method for transporting items, and more specifically a crate liner for use in delivering temperature-controlled items such as perishable food. The crate liner being insulated to maintain a temperature-controlled environment within the liner. The crate liner being collapsible to minimize the space required for storing the crate liner when not in use.

A cooler has a body and a lid that co-operate. The lid is movable between closed and open positions. The lid is a freezable reservoir. A filler port is located inside the lid. The entrance of the filler port into the lid is located at a height part way between the inside and outside walls of the lid. The lid has a downwardly extending hollow peripheral formation. The filler port is spanwise inset from the peripheral formation. The lid has spanwise extending internal formations that stiffen the lid and divide the internal chamber into sub-volumes connected by necks through which liquid can flow. The inside and outside walls of the lid may be connected. The lid is provided with a fill to line visible from the filling port to discourage over-filling. The lid may have an insulated cap, and the cooler may have an insulated jacket.

COOLER CONTAINER, COLD TRAY, AND RED WINE SERVER

There are provided a cooler container, cold tray, and red wine server in which it is possible to adjust the temperature of an outer surface on the buffer layer side of the container to a temperature that differs from the melting point of a freezing material. The cooler container adjusts temperature of an object to be cooled that includes a beverage or food product, the cooler container having at least a region with a hollow structure, the cooler container including: a thermal storage layer in the region, the thermal storage layer containing a freezing material that changes phase at a specific temperature; and at least one buffer layer in the region, the at least one buffer layer being separated from the thermal storage layer in the region and containing an antifreeze material that is a fluid at a phase transition temperature of the freezing material. The provision of the at least one intervening buffer layer enables the temperature of the outer surface on the buffer layer side of the container to differ from the melting point of the freezing material.
