A drying chamber assembly and a refrigerator are provided. The drying chamber assembly consists of a drawer-type sealing container which includes a drawer body, a drawer door and a drawer upper cover. The drawer body has an upward top opening. The drawer door is disposed at a front end of the drawer body and configured to push and pull the drawer body. The drawer upper cover is disposed above the drawer body to seal the top opening when the drawer body is completely pushed into the storage compartment and defines a drying space together with the drawer body and the drawer door. An airflow inlet is formed in the drawer body and configured to supply an airflow to the drying space. The drying chamber assembly directly covers and seals the top opening of the drawer body through the drawer upper cover.

The ice maker assembly includes an ice maker provided forward of a cold air discharge port that is provided at a rear portion of the storage space, where the cold air discharge port is configured to deliver cold air, a front cover that covers a front side of the ice maker and that is configured to be exposed to an outside of the cabinet based on the door being opened, and a heat insulating material provided at a rear surface of the front cover and configured to at least partially block the cold air passing through the ice maker from being delivered past a front surface of the front cover.

An ice maker for mounting into a household cooling appliance includes a storage container for ice that is formed with an opening which is accessible from the top. A fan generates an air stream in the ice maker. An air guiding duct above the storage container is bounded by a first lateral duct wall, which is oriented in the depth direction of the ice maker and extends in the height direction, and is bounded by a second duct wall, which is a roof wall. The air guiding duct has a first opening towards the bottom so that an air stream escapes towards the bottom. The first opening of the air guiding duct is arranged offset viewed in the width direction of the ice maker so that the air stream exiting from the first opening of the air guiding duct flows along an outer side of the storage container.

A refrigerator and method utilize a pair of tandem evaporators to provide cooling for both a compartment and an ice making system of a refrigerator. An upstream evaporator in the pair of tandem evaporators provides cooling for a compartment such as a freezer, fresh food, flexible cooling, or quick cooling compartment, while a downstream evaporator is in fluid communication with the upstream evaporator to receive a portion of the air cooled by the upstream evaporator and further cool the received portion for use in cooling one or more components of the ice making system.
