The invention provides that the partial liquefaction of the vapour phase is caused by cooling by means of heat exchange using the mixed refrigerant circuit.
System for enhanced gas turbine performance in a liquefied natural gas facility
A system for liquefying natural gas that includes a process and apparatus for enhancing the performance of one or more gas turbines. Gas turbine power output can be stabilized or even enhanced using the interstage cooling system configured according to one or more embodiments of the present invention. In one embodiment, partially compressed air from a lower compression stage of a gas turbine is cooled via indirect heat exchange with a primary coolant before being returned to a higher compression stage of the same gas turbine. Optionally, the interstage cooling system can employ one or more secondary coolants to remove the rejected heat from the primary coolant system.
LIQUEFIED GAS COOLING APPARATUS
A liquefied gas cooling apparatus including: a gas flow path for carrying a liquefied gas that is liquefied by cooling; and a refrigeration unit including a refrigerating cycle formed by an evaporator for cooling the liquefied gas flowing through the gas flow path, a compressor, a condenser, and a throttle expansion unit. The compressor is driven through an electric motor contained in a sealed housing together with a compressor mechanism.

A process for producing liquefied natural gas and liquid carbon dioxide comprising: Step a): separating a natural gas feed gas into a CO.sub.2-enriched gas stream and a CO.sub.2-depleted natural gas stream; Step b): liquefying the CO.sub.2-depleted natural gas stream in a liquefaction unit comprising at least a main heat exchanger and a system for producing frigories, said liquefaction unit comprising at least one refrigeration cycle fed by a refrigerant stream; Step c): simultaneous liquefying of the CO.sub.2-enriched gas stream resulting from step a) in a CO.sub.2 liquefaction unit; wherein the refrigeration necessary for the liquefaction of the CO.sub.2-enriched gas stream and for the liquefaction of the natural gas is supplied by said frigorie-producing system of the liquefaction unit and in that the refrigeration necessary for the liquefaction of the CO.sub.2-enriched gas stream originates from a portion of said refrigerant stream supplying the refrigeration cycle of said liquefaction unit.
PROCESS FOR LIQUEFYING NATURAL GAS AND CARBON DIOXIDE
A process for producing liquefied natural gas (14) and liquid carbon dioxide (CO.sub.2) (15) comprising at least the following steps: Step a): separating a natural gas feed gas (1), containing hydrocarbons and carbon dioxide in a treatment unit (2), into a CO.sub.2-enriched gas stream (4) and a CO.sub.2-depleted natural gas stream (3); step b): liquefying the CO.sub.2-depleted natural gas stream (3) resulting from step a) in a natural gas liquefaction unit (5) comprising at least a main heat exchanger (8) and a system (9) for producing frigories; step c): simultaneous liquefying of the CO.sub.2-enriched gas stream (4) resulting from step a) in a CO.sub.2 liquefaction unit (6); characterized in that all of the refrigeration necessary for the liquefaction of the CO.sub.2-enriched gas stream (4) and for the liquefaction of the natural gas is supplied by said frigorie-producing system (9) of the natural gas liquefaction unit (5).
Refrigerant Compressing Process with Cooled Motor
A cooling system is provided for cooling a motor that drives a compressor in a liquefaction system. The coolant used for cooling the motor includes portions of a discharge from a compressor. The coolant for the motor is generated from a vapor component of the discharge from the compressor. The discharge from the compressor is cooled and the vapor component is separated from a liquid component and treated prior to being introduced into the motor. Remaining portions of the discharge from the compressor are routed to cold boxes producing a compressed refrigerant.
Hydrogen Liquefier
Hydrogen is liquefied through a process utilizing refrigeration from hydrogen at one, two, or three different pressures as well as a nitrogen refrigeration cycle. One or more stages of catalyst are used to convert ortho-hydrogen to para-hydrogen as the hydrogen is cooled and liquefied. Subcooled liquid hydrogen feeds the final stage of ortho-hydrogen to para-hydrogen conversion to reduce or eliminate vaporization of the hydrogen during the exothermic ortho-hydrogen to para-hydrogen conversion.
REFRIGERANT AND NITROGEN RECOVERY
Systems, devices, and methods for recovering mixed refrigerant and/or nitrogen within liquefaction systems are provided. The systems, devices, and methods facilitate recovering mixed refrigerant (MR) and/or nitrogen vapor that can leak from a compressor, separating the MR from the nitrogen, and reusing the MR and/or the nitrogen within the liquefaction system. Recovering and reusing MR and/or nitrogen can minimize loss of MR and nitrogen which can lower the total operating cost of a liquefaction system. Additionally, recovering the MR, rather than burning it, can reduce environmental emissions by reducing the amount of MR that is burned.
LARGE LIQUID OXYGEN AND LIQUEFIED NATURAL GAS PRODUCTION PROCESS
A process for co-producing a liquid oxygen and a liquefied hydrocarbon stream, including introducing a gaseous hydrocarbon stream and a gaseous nitrogen stream into a liquefier, thereby producing a liquefied hydrocarbon stream and a liquid nitrogen stream, liquefying a gaseous oxygen stream, wherein at least a portion of the required refrigeration is obtained from the liquid nitrogen stream. Wherein the liquefied hydrocarbon stream and the liquefied gaseous oxygen stream have mass flow rates. The liquid oxygen stream may be produced in an aft separation unit, wherein at least a portion of the required refrigeration is obtained from the liquid nitrogen stream.
