PROCESS AND PLANT FOR PRODUCTION OF PURE CARBON MONOXIDE AND HYDROGEN
Proposed is a process and a plant for production of pure carbon monoxide and hydrogen by steam reforming of hydrocarbons, preferably methane or naphtha, to afford a raw synthesis gas and subsequent, multistage workup, purification and fractionation of the raw synthesis gas to afford the target products, wherein the material streams obtained as by-products of the process chain are also to be advantageously utilized. This is achieved according to the invention by providing the recirculating compressor provided for recycling of the by-product material streams with a plurality of parallel, independently operable compressor stages.

Process for the combined production of a mixture of hydrogen and nitrogen, and of carbon monoxide by cryogenic distillation and cryogenic scrubbing, wherein a methane-rich liquid is introduced at a first intermediate level of a scrubbing column as first scrubbing liquid and at least one nitrogen-rich liquid is introduced at a level higher than the first level of the scrubbing column as second scrubbing liquid and a mixture of hydrogen and nitrogen is drawn off as overhead gas from the scrubbing column.
Method and system for producing olefins
A process for producing one or more olefins is proposed in which a reaction input containing one or more paraffins is formed and in which a portion of the paraffin(s) present in the reaction input is converted by oxidative dehydrogenation into the olefin(s) to obtain a process gas, wherein the process gas contains at least the olefin(s), the unconverted paraffin(s), oxygen and carbon monoxide and wherein at least a portion of the process gas is subjected to a low temperature separation in which at an operating pressure level one or more gas fractions enriched in oxygen and carbon monoxide compared to the process gas are formed. It is provided that in the low temperature separation in the formation and/or for the conduction of the or at least one of the gas fractions one or more containers and/or one or more conduits having a burst pressure of at least ten times the operating pressure level are used and that the container or at least one of the containers via the or at least one of the conduits is connected to one or more heat exchangers, wherein a total length of the or of the at least one conduit between the or the at least one container and the heat exchanger(s) is not more than fifty times the internal diameter of said conduit. A corresponding plant (100) likewise forms part of the subject matter of the invention.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR THE CRYOGENIC SEPARATION OF A SYNTHESIS GAS CONTAINING A NITROGEN SEPARATION STEP
A method for separating a gas mixture comprising carbon monoxide, nitrogen and hydrogen involves sending a hydrogen-depleted fluid to a denitrification column (K2) having a top condenser (C1) and a bottom reboiler (R2) in order to produce a nitrogen-enriched gas at the top of the column and a nitrogen-depleted liquid at the bottom of the column, cooling the condenser of the denitrification column by means of a nitrogen cycle using a nitrogen compressor (V1, V2, V3), vaporising, in the heat exchanger of the condenser, the liquid nitrogen (53) from the nitrogen cycle, and returning the nitrogen (55) vaporised in the heat exchanger to the nitrogen compressor.
PROCESS AND APPARATUS FOR PRODUCTION OF CARBON MONOXIDE BY PARTIAL CONDENSATION
A process for separating a mixture of hydrogen, methane and carbon monoxide by cryogenic distillation. The mixture is cooled in a first heat exchanger and is partially condensed in at least one second heat exchanger which is a bottom reboiler of a first or second column of the column system and at least one portion of the liquid produced by the partial condensation is sent to an intermediate level of the first column.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR AN IMPROVED CARBON MONOXIDE COLD BOX OPERATION
The present invention is directed to a method and system of separating carbon monoxide from syngas mixtures with low methane content by cryogenic means where a partial condensation cycle is generally employed, and more specifically towards providing a methane slip stream to the feed in order to reduce the potential for any carbon dioxide entering the cold box to freeze, thereby preventing plugging of the cold box heat exchanger.
