A method of manufacturing ceramic tape includes a step of directing a tape of partially-sintered ceramic into a furnace. The tape is partially-sintered such that grains of the ceramic are fused to one another yet the tape still includes at least 10% porosity by volume, where the porosity refers to volume of the tape unoccupied by the ceramic. The method further includes steps of conveying the tape through the furnace and further sintering the tape as the tape is conveyed through the furnace. The porosity of the tape decreases during the further sintering step.

Coke oven corbel structures and methods of forming the same
Coke oven corbel structures include an assembly of multiple stacked tiers of refractory blocks defining a plurality of substantially vertically oriented central flues and a plurality of diagonally oriented lateral flues. At least one tier of refractory blocks in the assembly includes a plurality of tongue-and-groove interconnected refractory blocks. This plurality of interconnected refractory blocks of the at least one tier comprise mutually substantially orthogonal faces defining an edge and respectively including an elongate tongue protruding outwardly therefrom and an elongate groove recessed therein. The elongate tongue and groove include respective adjacent ends which co-terminate with one another at the edge defined by the mutually orthogonal faces of the refractory blocks.
Coke oven corbel structures and methods of forming the same
Coke oven corbel structures include an assembly of multiple stacked tiers of refractory blocks defining a plurality of substantially vertically oriented central flues and a plurality of diagonally oriented lateral flues. A corbel for a coke oven, including a gunblock section having a longitudinal through-bore arranged therein, the gunblock section having at least one substantially vertical though-bore in communication with the longitudinal through-bore. The gunblock section may be integral with a base. The gunblock section may also include a substantially vertical-angular channel open to a first end of the gunblock section and also open to a first side of the gunblock section.
