COOLING APPARATUS FOR VEHICLE

A cooling apparatus (10) for a vehicle includes air-cooling first and second heat exchangers (12, 14) that are placed beside each other. A coolant flow-out portion (32) of the first heat exchanger (12) from which a first coolant which is a cooling target of the first heat exchanger (12) flows out and a coolant flow-out portion (36) of the second heat exchanger (14) from which a second coolant which is a cooling target of the second heat exchanger (14) flows out are placed at ends at opposite positions separated along a diagonal line on a parallel placement surface of the two heat exchangers (12, 14). A first cooling fan (20) is placed opposing the coolant flow-out portion (32) of the first heat exchanger (12), and a second cooling fan (22) is placed opposing the coolant flow-out portion (36) of the second heat exchanger (14). With this configuration, cooling performance of two air-cooling heat exchangers placed beside each other can be improved.

Heat exchanger for a heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning system

An HVAC system for use with a first refrigerant and a second refrigerant. The HVAC system may include a first refrigerant circuit for use with the first refrigerant, a second refrigerant circuit for use with the second refrigerant, and a heat exchanger. The first refrigerant circuit and the second refrigerant circuit may each include may include a compressor, an expansion device, and an evaporator. The compressor may include a first upper section, a first lower section, a second upper section in fluid communication with the first lower section, and a second lower section in fluid communication with the first upper section. The first upper section, the first lower section, the second upper section, and the second lower section may be arranged such that the first refrigerant and the second refrigerant both flow through a majority of a face area of condenser while remaining in two different circuits.

Staggered heat exchanger array with side curtains

A heat exchanger array includes a first row of heat exchangers, a second row of heat exchangers, and side curtains. The first row heat exchangers are spaced apart to define first gaps. The second row heat exchangers are spaced apart to define second gaps and are positioned downstream of and staggered from the first row heat exchangers such that the second row heat exchangers are aligned with the first gaps and the first row heat exchangers are aligned with the second gaps. Each side curtain is in close proximity to a first row heat exchanger and a second row heat exchanger. The side curtains define a neck region upstream of and aligned with each first row heat exchanger and each second row heat exchanger. Each neck region has a neck area that is less than a frontal area of the heat exchanger with which it is aligned.

A heat exchanger assembly includes: a frame; a heat exchanger panel mounted to the frame and configured to exchange heat with air flowing therethrough, the heat exchanger panel being disposed at an inclined orientation; a fan assembly disposed vertically above the heat exchanger panel; and a sound dampening device disposed within an interior space of the heat exchanger assembly such that air is pulled into the interior space through the heat exchanger panel and then flows through the sound dampening device before being discharged from the heat exchanger assembly via the fan assembly. The sound dampening device includes baffle members having sound absorbing material and spaced apart from one another for allowing air flow therebetween. Each baffle member extends at an angle relative to a plane extending through the upper and lower ends of the heat exchanger panel so as to direct air flow upwardly toward the fan assembly.

A heat exchanger assembly includes a heat exchanger panel disposed at an inclined orientation. A fan assembly is disposed vertically above the heat exchanger panel and includes a fan impeller connected to a fan mount. The fan impeller is sized and positioned such that part of the fan impeller rotates vertically above the upper end of the heat exchanger panel. A casing has a plurality of inner walls for guiding air from the heat exchanger panel toward the fan assembly. The inner walls include a sloped wall. A distance between an upper end of the sloped wall and a fan rotation axis is greater than a distance between a lower end of the sloped wall and the fan rotation axis. The sloped wall is adjacent to the upper end of the heat exchanger panel such that the part of the fan impeller rotates vertically above the sloped wall.
